Apparently Josh Bynes took some of his snaps. Disappointing to hear, but he is still so young and physically gifted. Plenty of time to get better

they were mocking them being the first family of football. They don't deserve that at all
that's one I don't understand. He was starting to come on when he began playing last year. I know it's the Jets, but damn.
he came out for 4 snaps - he had his helmet on but i doubt he was "benched" - not really sure what happened but he was only out of the game for 4 snaps
i dont get it at all - he looked good last year after his injury

Yes please. Get Boykin the hell out of here. Hollywood - Sammy - Bateman - Mims - Proche. Lamar would be in heaven
getting way ahead of myself and that is why I'm putting it in this thread and not the signings thread, but I wanted to look a 2 yrs ahead. If both Madubuike are very good to even top players at their respective positions, I believe having their free agency period a couple yrs apart, could help us afford to sign both them. Obviously we have no idea what our cap situation will look like, so I'm only referring to these players. Oweh has a 5th yr option, which would bring us to 2026, while Mad's free agency period 2024. That being said, I'm excited to have them on this defense for many years to come.

no idea - just not playing at all - healthy scratched the whole season it looks like...
you're forgetting Duvernay lol
ultimately i think Duv would be why Boykin won't be activated (if that's the case) - he's currently doing a lot of what we asked Boykin to do but also has the added explosion to run all the motion stuff that we ask him to do
but we'll see what happens with Boykin - in all likelihood at this point with the injuries i think we'll see 7 WRs on the roster and Wallace will be deactivated - he's been playing gunner for us but idk that it's at a level that's high enough to make us not put someone else there like boykin
Plus, much easier to justify 7 WRs now since the passing game is what's going to carry us rather than the running game.
and not so much of a roster crunch at the moment because of the injuries - it also helps that boykin, wallace and duvernay all have special teams value and proche is the backup returner

I mean... he's in year 2. It's not like they'll cut him. They'd, at worst, bring in competition, in the form of draft pick(s) or free agent acquisitions (almost certainly the former), and he may be relegated to more of a rotational role.
i know people keep telling me he's playing poorly but im not seeing it - he continues to struggle to get off blocks and make tackles sure... but he's also massively improved and actually pretty good in pass coverage at this point
not sure why he was off the field for those 4 snaps he missed
he's not been spectacular but he's been fine
he's inconsistent not bad
