The Random Thought Thread

The Rams getting blasted by the bills should probably surprise no one. Remember Huntley basically beat them last year. Stafford threw more pics than any starting QB last year. I would've said before tonights game there's a zero percent chance of the Rams repeating and this game really solidifies that for me. They'll make the playoffs but be an early exit.

Bills are gonna be tough. They’re rolling over LA and they haven’t even played a really clean game. Imagine once they get into a rhythm. It’s amazing how much Josh Allen has improved too.

Rams looks like pretenders but we know if they get in, they have a shot. Stafford’s elbow is clearly worse than people had been letting on though. The zip looks down considerably from his career.

Throwing mechanics look different too - I’m guess also because of that injury - a few times his release looked higher and more over the top than in the past... I know he’s historically played around with different arm angles but felt noticeable

I was telling a friend of mine that he just didn't look like himself.

imo, i really think them going to SB this season is most likely gonna happen.. well unless they play us in afc ship

i would like to revisit mcjakcet and I getting into a big arguement about if gave Davis is a scrub or not. I’ll leave it at that
Ya know that was the first thing I thought of when he scored that early TD

don’t fret though you know he has an entire essay explaining why that game doesn’t make him any less of a scrub lol

Its week 1. Not wise to extrapolate takeaways from a single game towards an entire season.
Rams are going to be a very good team this year. Will they win the SB? Probably not, because repeating is brutally hard. But the NFC is going to be largely full of really flawed teams from top to bottom. Nobody else has played yet, but have no reason to look at other rosters in that conference and think any of them are going to be materially better than the Rams.

After one game you want to revisit? OK, sounds like a little short-sighted to me, but that's your call.

Also I never said he was a scrub. I said you people are falling for the Marlon Brown trap (though he's a lot better than Marlon Brown) of thinking the guy is going to score like 30 TDs this year because he caught four in a game, or thinking really any of his statistical metrics are sustainable in any way.

But you'll figure this out eventually.

Agree. My question with the Rams is Stafford. Totally didn't look like himself out there.

Yeah you just said what I did. They'll make the playoffs, but this team isn't capable of repeating. They just got hot at the right time last year and that was enough. They won't have it again this year.

I mean I think they're certainly capable of repeating. One blowout loss to Buffalo in week 1 doesn't change my take at all. I mean last years SB championship team went 2-5 in the regular season against playoff teams. I certainly am not convinced they're a one and done team either. If they made the Conference Championship or SB, it wouldn't shock me in the slightest.

Agreed. Though he also looks like a guy who had an arm procedure and didn't throw for months, which is what happened.
He wouldn't be my long term concern. Oline could be a problem, but they're generally pretty good about getting those things figured out.

That and it's also the first game of the season. I think they will be a playoff team but agree with you that they won't repeat.
