The Random Thought Thread

i mean i get what baldy's saying here - but the novelty here is the number of pullers - the ravens have run similar counter-bash/inverted veer concepts like this and had lamar get huge TDs off it - only difference is the ravens normally have 2 pullers rather than 1

so i get that he's saying that not many teams have done this play... but it's not an alien concept that should surprise anyone

Lamar going for six on that play 100% of the time

That’s why Lamar is special. A qb run disguised as an option, it was executed to 100% perfection by the entire offensive front, and Allen picked up a small chunk. The same exact playcall for Lamar, executed the same by the blockers, it will be a touchdown, the only thing preventing that would be that defenders would play it ENTIRELY different

Since I'm a worrier, let me share my biggest worry with this upcoming season. It isn't the pass rush and it isn't the receivers.

To me, it is the corners. The team has possibility to have excellent corners, but it also feels like it could go down the drain real fast if things don't pan out in the best way:
* No worries about Marlon
* Peters - we don't know the state he's in. If he's his old self, then awesome and a lot of worries disappear. But if he needs weeks or months to get back to normal, who do we trust to start in his spot?
* Fuller - based on what I've read about his 2021, he's on a steep downhill slope. Can of course have been a fluke bad season with a bad HC and he returns to form with the Ravens. But we won't know until a few weeks in, so until then, I'm going to worry
* Pepe seems like a draft steal, but we've only seen him against scrubs, so the jury's still out. I'm optimistic about him, though. But can't expect him to play starter quality snaps on the outside this year, but may be that in the slot already.
* Stephens - I could see him as an upcoming safety last year. I am yet to see a viable outside corner in him and I'm not sure we have time to develop him now with this group. Hope I'm really wrong.
* Armour-Davies - So far in his career, he makes Jimmy Smith seem like the iron horse. Will he hold up more than 2 snaps at a time before getting injured? Good potential, but will he be able to get on the field?

Considering how often CBs go down, which of these are we going to trust on the outside when the shit inevitably hits the fan?

Now, I got that off my chest, let's cross our fingers that all 6 are shared first-team All-Pros this year ;)

and if they did then lamar gives it to JK and he gets a chunk around the edge

why are you so unsure about stephens?
I just listed worries about all of them...
But one thing on Stephens is that I thought he wasn't shining against scrubs. Other than that, I just don't see it as corner, while I did see a safety ladt year. Not sure I can put the specifics into words though

you and i had very different feelings about his preseason reps then - because i thought he dominated - got called on a poor DPI call and had a needless out of bounds penalty but otherwise showed a good accounting of himself even against a guy with 4.31 speed

worth pointing out also that he was transitioning to safety last year from outside corner - that's where he played his final 2 years in college and that's where he demonstrated a skillset that led to him becoming a 3rd round pick

What a wanker... King Wanker

Don’t get me started lol
This whole week’s been one massive joke

And it’s gonna be horrific watching billions spent on the “festivities” over the next 3 weeks while it’s predicted that literally thousands of people are gonna be freezing and in danger this winter because of the cost of living

One hugely expensive cringe fest of no benefit to anyone except these parasites.
