The Random Thought Thread

2 random thoughts.

Hayden Hurst has kind of been an animal for the Bengals through 2 weeks.

The Bengals will probably win because the cowboys let 2 Bengals drives be extended because of stupid penalties

Maybe they're willing to let him sit out the first 8 games or something? Maybe they think he can contribute this year albeit later and they don't want to lose the money

worst case, it's possible that they're just trying to prevent him from getting injured and having some sort of guarantee in 2023

To start the season the Ravens are probably the best AFCN team. Probably followed by Browns, Steelers, and then the Bengals. Wacky start to football.

This is my thought. Have to imagine they're wary of putting him on IR for the same damn reason because that'll require an injury settlement of sorts, or waiting for him to pass a physical. Too much cap at stake in a tight year for that.

I know I saw the "bring back Wink" comments earlier on today. I get it, this defense under MM has done a not-so-great job so far. Wink had his moments of brilliance with us, but dammit, he had his bad moments too. Y'all remember the Bears game and the fuckery that happened before Huntley's GW drive?

idk where this narrative that MM has done a not so great job have come from
the defence against the jets looked great
1 bad game in his 2nd outing with a bunch of injuries in the secondary against 2 of the most dynamic weapons in football does not erase what happened last week lol

if anything that was a bit of a "welcome to the nfl" kind of game for him - he was in a coordinating battle with one hand tied behind his back against one of the best coordinators in the league and he lost

the worry is that we havent got much time to sort this out though - we've got the pats next week which should hopefully be easier to deal with, but then we've got the bills and bengals in weeks 4 and 5 and then the bucs 3 weeks later

The Bengals reddit is having a meltdown so thats kinda fun lol. The whole offseasin they talked about how much better they were gonna be and how Lamar sucks.

Steelers fans already turning on Trubisky.

I woke up this morning feeling no better than yesterday. 28 points in the fourth quarter. I never in a million years thought a Ravens defense could have a collapse like that. I am just feeling pretty low.

But I don't get that. He's not healthy then right? You don't hurt your knee and then lose all of your football skill. If he's incapable of anchoring, it's because he's not healthy enough to do so right? He didn't forget how to block
You get protective of your injury and you don’t move with the same freedom you once had. Some guys can’t get over that part and are never the same, a lot of it’s mental and yes if you are afraid to put a load on your knee you’ll literally forget how to play football lol, because now you gotta learn how to play it on one leg

Kolar is built like jack skellington. I would imagine he could be worse than Oliver lol

he wasnt good blocking in college but he's got a decent frame albeit he's fairly tall - i feel like he could develop into a decent in-line blocker
but we cant really expect that from him
