The Random Thought Thread

Have we run even one play where it's something like Duv on the outside by himself as a deep threat option and then trips on the other side with Andrews, Bateman, and DRob/Proche/Wallace?

Like I really believe those would be effective looks especially with Gus in pass pro
 
Or what about plays where you only have one running back and that running back is Likely? He's gotta be able to block better than fucking Drake and he's equally capable of being slippery and finding a soft spot to help the QB check down if need be.

I mean yeah probably. It's a very different process to recognize and pick up a block than do the inline stuff.

The man is a LETHAL blitzer, for christs sake do it as much as possible and give our pass rush a boost. My man yes. 75-80% of the time blitzing. Only problem is when he gets locked up I haven't noticed a secondary move but in open space his change of direction and his speed is superb. Gotta finish tho and he's improved in that area immensely. I see him around the ball a shit ton more. Will be interesting to see if we put the 5th yr option on him during the offseason.

It's gonna take time for our defense. We gotta new system as the DC figgers out how to use his personel and it just takes time to gel. It's good to see Houston and JPP not being dropped into coverage half the time cuz you gotta fool somebody. Just move your chess pieces around and let them do their thing.

We need a mike!!!!! Maybe Harrison but Bynes is on his last legs and Welch is a career backup/sp teams.

For as frustrating as this year has been to this point, we've had a number of players step up into solid to good rotational or even starting pieces.

Josh Oliver
Ben Powers
Broderick Washington
Malik Harrison
Geno Stone

Lots of these guys were on the bubble or on the back end of the roster at various points over the last 2-3 years and they're all giving us some pretty solid contributions at this point, so shout out to them.

4 of these were draft picks and one was a 7th round pick trade (Oliver) and none of these players cost more than a 3rd round pick.
 
I just want to say that I called it that Woolen was gonna be a great corner in the NFL. Leads the league in picks and has generally shut down his side. Can't believe we had multiple shots at drafting him in the 4th round and just didn't.

He was on my radar hardcore for round 2, ojabo higher though
