The Random Thought Thread

I think this is the weakest NFL I've ever seen. Ridiculous parity all over the place. I don't think there's a single team including Philadelphia that are unbeatable. And even beyond unbeatable, I don't even think there are any elite teams.

Idk if its weakness or just parity, but its fun. The AFC in particular is wide open, and now we get news of Josh Allen's injury POSSIBLY requiring surgery with a 4-6 week turnaround time...

It's crazy. If they drop a few of those, which would be totally reasonable with your starting QB out, they could miss the playoffs.

i dont think it's weakness necessarily - i think it's more defences catching up with passing offences and the prolific usage of cover 2/cover 6 shells so scoring is generally down

ironically i think the prominence of those coverage choices has been to the ravens great benefit because we've become a running team and the best way to take advantage and dominate those coverages is by punishing them for taking defenders out of the box or leaving gaps open

I think you could make pretty great cases that there are multiple position groups on this team that you could say might be the best and deepest in the NFL:

FB
TE
LB
S
K

and i think there's a pretty good case for a couple of others to be considered top 5:

QB
OL
DL
LS

and that doesnt include CB and EDGE where we've had really high level play in recent weeks

Oddsmakers really has Peyton Manning the favorite to become the next Head Coach of the Indianapolis Colts. Yes, you heard that right. Now if that happens, Brady is going to sign with a team who plays the Colts just so he can beat Peyton Manning, the Head Coach.

I could potentially see him as an OC

Roquan Smith reminds me a lot of Ray Lewis. Very good leader, excellent tackler, playmaker, solid INT guy

There's little chance of them completely missing the playoffs, though they could absolutely lose the division lead after the Jets beat them and are on their heels record wise.

I just wanted to express my sympathies to Joe Gibbs and family. He lost his son on Sunday morning, age 49, for reasons that haven't been listed yet. In 2019 his other son JD Gibbs at the same age of 49 to an extremely rare neurological disorder. This is so sad

Look at how terrible the Rams, Bucs and Steelers are too. Weird year.

I wish we could be 6-3 too! Sigh.
Which one you want?

Rest in Peace. That is terrible
