The Random Thought Thread

I really am starting to believe that the plan might have been for a coaching overhaul of the OFF and DEF Coordinators after last season, but Roman got a flier because it was seen as too much turmoil (I remember reading that idea someplace - maybe here from a poster) and/or because there might have been rumblings about Stanford then and they figured with returning players this could be a return to 2019 performance.

That said, I'm much less optimistic about Lamar signing a deal now than I was. I just don't see him coming back with Roman or a guy that is unknown or someone who "has upside." From my take, it's gonna take a bona fide OFF guy that is already a known commodity.
 
Legitimate question. Does anyone think that the 49ers defense is significantly better than ours? To me they seem to be similar, which is in the top 10. They may just not suffer from the choking act that our team does.

The reason I bring it up is because the 49ers philosophy is pretty similar to us but the actual system can make Jimmy G or whoever the fuck the 3rd stringer rookie is look amazing.

Imagine if Lamar was the QB for the 49ers or if Shanahan was was the HC/OC here.
 
Also Jalen Hurts seems like a really nice guy and I actually like him as a person a lot. However as a quarterback he's not even mid. If Hurts gets Lamar's SB I'll never forgive this organization lmao.

For that to happen, DeCosta will have to backload the contracts or pull some magic shit to keep the best players together and add serious playmaker(s) to the offense and Dline/edge.
 
if we do go another direction next season, I think I would be on board with signing Frank Reich as OC, although i don't know who else will be available.

This is a team that has Kittle and Deebo and then pursued McCaffrey. Ever look at Jimmy's face? He looks downright joyful. Compare that to lamar and his expression.

49ers got a nice pass-rush. Ours isn't shabby by any means. We don't have a pass-rusher on Bosa's level.
 
has there been any successful players of obajo caliber that got injured either right before draft or during last year of college season? I honestly cant think of none. I know cowboys selected a few but none really amounted to anything
