2011 would've been amazing if Lee Evans learned how to catch and/or we had Tucker
If Evans made that catch, Tucker probably wouldn't have ever played in the NFL.

(We would have won the game, so Cundiff doesn't miss, so probably no real training camp competition for Cundiff. If I recall correctly, Ravens were the only team who contacted Tucker.)

Crazy, because tucker had a reputation in college for crushing clutch kicks

I mean maybe.
People forget but Cundiff wasn't very good for 2011 anyway (even before the playoffs). Regular season FG% dropped from near 90% in 2010 (when he was an All-Pro) to nearly 76% in 2011.
He was 1/6 from 50+ (never had a strong leg anyway) and he missed two kicks inside of 40 yards. He was 18/27 from 30+ yards.

Now they did sign Cundiff to a five year extension (though with very little gtd money) prior to the 2011 season, but I think there's a good chance they brought in at least some competition for him regardless.

Plus, lets be fair... I'm not sure the Ravens even ever envisioned Tucker being what he is. He was signed as an UDFA in late May, and if the Ravens were a lot more serious about competition for Cundiff, they probably would have drafted somebody. Note that there were four kickers drafted that year, including some pretty good one's (Zuerlein, Walsh, Bullock).

Whoever recommended giving Tucker a look to Ozzie should be in the Hall of Fame

You can thank Jerry Rosburg for that. Even further, he didn't sign with us during rookie camp because of an injury and the medical staff wanted to fail his physical. He was about to sign with the Steelers but Rosburg convinced them to pass him and get him into mini camp, and the rest is history.

Right. Probably a decent chance Tuck still would have been brought into camp as competition.

None as good as the GOAT, though

2008 was such a fun season man. Leron McClain will always hold a special place in my heart
I'm glad I'm not the only one. I loved the game against the Cowgirls where we had those two HUGE runs to break their backs. I think a lot of us forget how good our team was from 2006-2012. Consistently deep in the Playoffs, being the team no one wanted to face... I love that shit. That 2008 and Cowgirls game was so great.

Yep, it was epic. Last game to be played at Texas stadium and we beat their “America’s team” asses. lol

Closed out that stadium in high fashion. Got something like 300 yds on the ground lol.

Is that legit about the Steelers?

Lol i agree with what he said but it’s such a bad take coming from Dilfer. I do feel like alot do these young QBs wouldn’t survive the NFL back then

And yet he can't say that, considering how mediocre he was. He was a game manager, but threw a lot of picks. He was good in the playoffs for us, but he really can't be saying this sh*t.

Agreed, Dilfer wouldn’t even be talked about or known about if he wasn’t the QB attached to the 2000 Ravens defense who got carried to the organization’s first SB
