The Random Thought Thread

Never saw it live since well, I wasn't alive...

But nothing grosses me out more than the Theismann break. I turn away any time I'm about to accidentally see it.
I was in my freshmen year in college and wasn't at the game, but was watching the game. It was MNF. Yeah that's the most gruesome of gruesome injuries. Two seconds later another freshmen skins fan came running into my room.

Jay Schraeder takes over and wins the game for the skins.

Theismann tried to come back the next year and if it were for current medical technology he would have been able to come back. He was always tough as nails.

This Cleveland defense is gonna be an issue this season

I'm wondering if the reason Marcus Williams isn't going on IR is due to only being able to bring back 8 players from IR. The Ravens already have three players on IR that they would like to bring back in Tyus Bowser, Malik Hamm and Keaton Mitchell. If we put Marcus Williams on IR we would have already used up half of the eligible to be returned players from IR. I think Williams could still be out longer than 4 weeks in his rehab. No guarantee, but that's my opinion.

Good thing ours most likely will too when guys come back.

Forgive me for what I'm about to say...

Stephens has upped his game. Still fearful on deep balls. If he could just get better at tracking.
I have to give credit where credit is due. He has played well and has been making solid tackles.

Maybe. I think if he was getting surgery, they'd have already put him on IR. Could be that his timetable is just sort of ill-defined, or that between he and Linderbaum, four weeks is kind of the baseline rest period.
I'm not sure how much longer they can sustain it though if short-term injuries continue to grow. Even with PS elevations, you're at 55 players. They have four guys who I'd say are unlikely to play this week (Marlon, Linderbaum, Stanley, Williams) and then they now have Oweh and OBJ dealing with short term injuries. So you're looking at like two healthy scratches. Another injury or two like these and you're going to be challenged to field a full gameday roster without putting somebody on IR.

And based on where the roster sits now, I wouldn't be entirely certain that Hamm or Mitchell return from IR at all. If they were really concerned about having too many IR guys and not even return slots, those would be two guys who are basically fringe-roster, depth-type players, who probably just wouldn't come off IR.
