The Random Thought Thread

Has less to do with running up the score, and more to do with doing something your coach told you not to do. That's the worst part about it... Jameis is doing things that he's not responsible for, and having others face the backlash for it. Accountability ain't never been his cup of tea.

He'll get a job, but he played for $4M this year. He'll likely be playing for less than that this year.

I would argue in this case its bad sportsmanship, considering the only reason you're doing it is because you were so inept offensively throughout the year that you couldn't get a RB on a TD in 18 weeks. Then you have to wait until the other team stops trying to get him one. Makes you look as weak as you already were.
Yea it does make sense. I just dnt like the fact how sharpe called for the guy to get fired though when you were just crying when they let you go from your job at first take or whatever it was.

Michigan guy or Weaver will be our next DC. Not going to go into whole debate about mandating interviews but if it's not clear at this point what Washington is doing with their first two announcements, I don't know what is.

They're not the only two names on the list. There's at least five. Raheem Morris and both coordinators in Detroit (Ben Johnson and Aaron Glenn) are getting interviews also.

Was he michigan staff when mm was there?i know he was once here but idk where he went after that
Was not. He took over when MM left. Was on the Raven staff for four years, has been a college DC for three. Now two solid years with Michigan.

"Reportedly", when Jim wanted to poach from John, John told him he could have either Minter or MacDonald. Jim took Mike, Jesse left to coordinate at Vanderbilt, then Jesse went to Michigan when Mike came back.

They run very similar schemes and have the same sort of vision of what modern defense should look like. Not saying he will necessarily get the job, but I think he'd be on the short list. As would Weaver and possibly Hewitt internally.

I would say this also is predicated potentially on Minter not taking a HC gig in college. Imagine he would have plenty of interest among D1 programs, though maybe not necessarily among prominent one's. But I would think a DC NFL job would be higher on the priority list.

Niners get none of the disrespect we get. We've torched both conferences. No one is asking should the Niners be worried about the Eagles, Cowboys, or Rams.
Eh... of the 49ers losses, none of them were against a team they may face in the playoffs, except the Rams game yesterday. Bunch of backups in that game, and it happened to be the first time the Rams beat the 49ers in a regular season game since 2018 (and I thought our recent record against Pitt was bad). They beat the Rams in LA first game, and crushed both the Eagles and Cowboys.

Three of Ravens losses were to teams that are in the AFC playoffs... and they're division rivals.

If you play the percentages, historically Lamar is much more likely to lose a game to an AFC team than an NFC team.

I still expect us to roll to Vegas, but if I had to bet $100 right now on the #1 seed more likely to survive to the Superb Owl, I'd put that money on the Niners. I think they're a lot less likely to trip over any of the NFC field than the Ravens are over the Bills, the Chiefs, the Browns...

YMMV.

there are and Ben Johnson may be the best option for a young QB. Just depends on who Macdonald wants to bring in as an OC. Either Macdonald or Johnson would be very good hires.

Coolest story ever would be Jim winning the CFP and John winning a SB.. also that moment on the field when John surprised Jim was pretty special
