The Random Thought Thread

I don’t take posting this lightly, but you know that leaked draft board that had Nate Wiggins in a color that seemingly indicated character concerns? Got some info that they’re true, the Ravens knew, and took the chance. I didn’t get the sense it was crime or anything like that - more that he’s an asshole who thinks he’s a gift to the earth. Just don’t be shocked if/when stuff comes out in the coming years.
Any indication he's unliked by teammates?

Ro will set his ass straight.

This is not a good look from Tyreek Hill or the Miami Police. Both parties are in the wrong, Tyreek refusing to roll his window down when the police asked him to is just stupid. Especially since he has tinted windows, the officer doesn't know if he has a weapon or not, for all the officer knew, he was grabbing a weapon. Tyreek put himself in a bad situation by speeding to begin with, he made it worse by not complying with the officer. That second officer was on a power trip, first officer seemed to have it under control but the second officer decided to escalate it. That second officer needs to be fired... aggressive for no reason. Safe to say in this situation, both parties are in the wrong and should do better.

I Gotta disagree, all of this could have been avoided if the cop just wrote the ticket. Hill was being a jerk, but nothing warranted being pulled out of the car. Florida tint laws also allow for very dark tint , so the officer can cry about safety concerns all he wants but it’s Florida man you gotta have tint like that or you roast. Also, there is no law about window up window down, FL statue just states you got present the usual(ID, registration, insurance)

Hopefully he grows up before it becomes a problem. He did just turn 21

Luckily, we have a strong culture on defense with not only Ro, but guys like Humphrey, Hamilton, MW, and Orr. As long as he doesn't get in any trouble off the field, he'll be straight.

30 might be a little too high but there is an obvious mismatch in terms of what EDC thought the Henry signing could do and what Harbs, Monken, and Taggart can implement.

Pretty embarrassing. Even if it's not 30 real touches, it's gotta be 30 potential touches with Lamar running or as a passing threat. I would bet Henry came nowhere close to that in game 1 and we were never down significantly.

why would that be the plan
the idea is that he becomes another weapon in this offence that's hard to stop because he's part of this offence with lamar (and adds the best bits of Henry on top) - 30 carries or touches just means we're either already winning by a few scores or that we're taking the ball out of our best player's hands

Y'all were talking about Watson earlier on. Welp, here tf we go again.

doesnt help them for the pro rated bonuses they've already paid him - if they void the guarantees and cut him he would still have a cap hit of like 81m next year

would also be hard to argue this given that this all happened before they signed him and he would probably have a pretty good case to say that they knew about his shortcomings etc beforehand

watson deserves nothing and i hope he loses his money
but the browns also dont deserve to get out of this - they made a choice and now that it's gone wrong they're trying to find any way to backtrack that they can

probably took the bet based on the fact that most elite CBs have to have a bit of weirdo or asshole to them

I got the sense that was part of it. Big thing that was kind of lead on is that he’s flaky. Didn’t put in the work and missed a lot of meetings and such in college. When the issues were described to me it sounded very Earl Thomas-like. But he’s 21 and there’s bound to be some immaturity. Hopefully an organization that doesn’t put up with it sets him straight and it never becomes an issue here.
