The Random Thought Thread

Steelers being 3-0 is wild to me.

Is it? They always seem to finish with a record 2-3 wins over their talent level. I find it so Steelers to be stacking wins over average teams while everyone is still in pre-season form only to be hanging on for a WC spot later when the good teams actually start cooking.

In a year where scoring is down and 2 high shell is the norm, it's the teams with the good running games and defenses winning games. Not to mention, the new illegal formation rule is making pass protection less consistent for offensive tackles (when they call it lol). 2019 Baltimore team would've been insane this season. It will be interesting to see if this is season-long... But teams that usually aren't good are good this year. But that's another reason the Ravens need to get Henry going even with the o-line troubles.

Keaton coming back is going to save lives

I don't think we know what we have now with Andrews, it would seem he is still trying to find his stride post injury. Hopefully at some point he can get back to being the weapon he was.

Just on play time alone Likely is the 1 and the offense is much faster/explosive with him.

Eventually I would think Likely and Andrews are on the field together on most plays

Pre injury Andrews was 1/1A with Kelce. I've loved Likely's play since Day 1, but he has a long ways to go to reach Mark's prime level of play.

I don't think Andrews was ever that with Kelce personally.

I think he was top 4 in the league but he was not in the realm of that guy who is game breaking. IMO

No slight to Andrews but Kelce is going to go down as arguably the great receiving TE

To me, he was 2 or 3 with Kittle being the other.

I'm not sure why all the surprise about the Steelers. They had terrible play from the QB last year and still managed two wins over us. They never under play us and Tomlin knows that JH is able to be beaten if they remain close. I think we're in trouble with them. They are easily a 10 win team and could go into their bye at 8-0. They got Indy, Dallas, LV, NYJ, and NYG in the next 5 games and none of those teams are anything special. You know they are going to beat LV... that gives them a common foe game. This is an example where I think Tomlin is prepared better than JH. I don't think JH thinks or plans ahead for games that become tie-breakers. We often lose games during the season that are sometimes equivalent to a double L. We are two behind the Steelers in the W column and if we continue to win and they continue to win and they win against the Raiders, that's an extra point in the tie-breaker.

I am not confident anyway with us hemoraging points when we have a substantial lead.

Andrews was absolutely taking over games for years. He was right there with kelce, and frankly I found it disrespectful anyone would put kittle ahead of or equal to Andrews.

He’s taken a big step back and I hope he returns to form, and I hope the coordinating allows it.

Oh they’re sweeping us

This why I asked how Andrews looked before the season started. Maybe needs more time from the injury. Maybe the car accident was more severe. Maybe he's being used to help the OL more. Maybe it's cause we have more viable weapons and not being called upon as much. Feel like he got to freelance more previously. But with the current offense he's more restricted. I haven't watched any all 22.

I don’t see it. TJ watt is gonna do as he pleases, all day
Coverage will have tightened up by that first game and trust our front to keep improving. OL will keep improving as well. We should have put belt to ass last year. We get revenge this season.
