The Random Thought Thread

So in the playoffs, if a defense takes our run game away, ya’ll trust Bateman to make some clutch catches? I’d trust Adams a lot more.
Of course people would trust Adams more, there might not be a single player in the league you would trust more at WR outside of Jefferson.

Out of Lamar's 72 competitions this year, 52 have gone to WRs/TEs (13 per game). You have three first-round WRs (granted Agholor is obviously a role player and Bateman is still Bateman), one of the highest paid TEs in the league, and one of the most athletic, if not most athletic TEs in the. league. Already that's less than 3 catches a game even to give these guys the ball.

I'll give the benefit of the doubt and in this scenario Bateman might be a trade-away candidate to get Adams. That's still 3 catches per game per player that you're paying how much to when the run game is as dominant as it is. There's just too many mouths to feed one ball, especially when the Ravens have been at their most dominant with Ricard on the field this season.

Tae said he would prefer a 900 yard season and a SB over a 1600 yard season. Which is great, but I don't think it's here.

I’d be much more open to the Adams trade if we’re talking about swapping him for Bateman and late round pick.

Even then I'm not really sold. Yes Bateman hasn't been expected but he still has some upside (to me at least). Let's assume we trade a 4th + Bateman for Adams and then Adams gets cut next year because, pending huge name cuts, I don't see how they could keep him at that contract. The Ravens would be doing the WR drafting circus over again. At least Bateman is an okay role player at this time for the team through 2026, do I see them giving up 2 years + 13 games of Bateman for 13 games of Adams (at this time), I don't really think so. Especially when they've shown they want to still be a run-first team with the Henry signing.

We still don’t know what version of Andrews is left in the tank. Granted he’s still a good blocker

It's random but what ever happened to Allen Robinson and Jarvis Landry ? Not really old or anything and I know that had their share of injuries but didn't think it would affect them this much

I think you make that trade knowing Adams is a rental. Ravens would have to adjust their MO and think short term with SB or bust mentality.
TBF, we’re well on our way to the WR circus regardless if we trade Bate. I don’t see any WR in our long term plans outside of Zay

I really don't want Adams. With that being said it seems like our team is gonna take another big hit next year. Last year was our year. This year is fringe. It's only gonna get worse. So Adams or someone else, I'd be for rolling the dice.

Think there's just too many positions with large uncertainties. And if you want to pay Hamilton and Linderbaum big in the same year that's gonna be rough.

I reckon worth it as a short term hire to attack SB again. 3rd round compensatory pick would come back via FA. So 2nd for 3rd and less than half of what he's worth salary wise.

he and travis jones are causing all sorts of carnage inside
oweh and KVN have had at least 1 cleanup each from those guys

Mad also had a sack/safety taken away from him by the refs in the cowboys game
KVN literally said that to Mad in the Cowboys "Wired"

I see what you’re saying, it still doesn’t feel worth it because frankly idk if it benefits us having adams on the team. We are finding our groove as an offense and adams would really take us out of our element and I just don’t like the idea of it. This coaching staff just overreacts so much, I’d be willing to bet we would lose our first 2 games with Adams starting, just because our coaching staff goes ape shit trying to figure out how to use new pieces. If we had him in training camp, sure, but I think it would be a bit of a disaster tbh.

This coaching staff has scarred me for life.

Walker will be back and so will Mitchell. Adams ego wont let him go games without touches. They can act like Pierce is the problem but we all know Adams has wanted out.

Bro where is Walker? He's never been injured enough to not play at least a few PS snaps.
