I would agree if MJ hadn’t played better in those playoffs then he did for the next 3 so clearly he was not rusty unless the rust lasted 3 years.

Also he didn’t have Rodman for the first 3 and he would not have had him until the last 3 regardless of retirement status.

expecting him to come in after they were 31 and 31 and turn them into a championship is a bit ridiculous. Other than that he was on the team, but he certainly wasn't on the team to start the season. That's why it's essentially a 6 peet, even though it isn't.

Except MJ came back and played at the level he always did (and a higher level than the next 3 years in the playoffs). If your argument is the team wasn’t good enough, I would agree with you, but we don’t toss out years where someone loses because the team isn’t good enough.

It’s basically a great example that even in his prime MJ needed help to win. If he had it you could have argued he won 7 in a row. As it is you can argue he won 6 out of 7 which is still amazing.

which is why it's only essentially a 6-peet because he didn't play the full season. We all know it's not a 6 peet you don't need to argue your point. It's not like they won every year.

Without rodman though, they werent beating shaq even if he didnt retire and come back imo
