The Random Thought Thread

Do it man, it’s awesome ditching glasses and no longer having to pay for contacts. I had it done in 2015 and my vision is still perfect. I had the SMILE(Small Incision Lenticule Extraction) and would recommend it over LASIK and PRK. Theres no flap with SMILE like lasik.
What's the difference between the two?

I've had minor astigmatism for my entire life. Only started wearing glasses when I was 50. I'm currently 58 and due to having Retinoblastoma (cancer) in my left eye and losing the eye when I was 3 years old, I don't know if I'd risk the surgery. I wear a prosthesis in my left eye and lucky enough being in the DC area there are some really good Ocularists in the area.
I wouldnt risk the surgery neither tbh..i had 20/20 vision at 26, 3 yrs later and my right eye has gotten blurry lol..

There’s no flap with SMILE. They stick a small needle in and it acts almost like a windshield wiper shaping your eye. LASIK creates a flap, peels it back , and then starts shaping your eye. Both are super safe , but at the time I was jump qualified and there was a risk of the flap separating…. It’s super rare but still possible with enough force

I heard a story about a girl in her 20s who got lasik, her eye didn’t respond well to it, they swelled and her eyes stopped producing tears and her eyes were incredibly painful and bone dry. She was seeing eye doctors for months, and was told repeatedly there is no fix for this and they’re sorry they can’t help her. She killed herself about 6 months after getting the surgery.

My wife read this story and she has really poor vision and really bad eyes, she decided after reading that, that she just won’t risk it.

i don't think this should be a reason not to do it because it is extremely rare, but researching it is definitely the right thing to do.

If she would end up doing it I would end up doing one eye at a time though.

I think serious complications are pretty rare. We’ve been doing it for years for all Marines within certain jobs . Army is the same way and I’ve never heard of anything crazy

There are some rumors floating that Mike Vrabel could be the next coach of the Cleveland Browns. If this were the case, I'd assume Jim Schwartz would be available. If this were the case, I'd like to bring him in as defensive coordinator. Not sure. this would be a great fit because it's a completely different style of defense.

Obviously this is based on if Orr can't get it together.

I just don’t believe in Orr at this point. Seems like he lacks a fundamental understanding of how this defense is supposed to be called. If his pressure packages didn’t look so absolutely horrible then I would put the blame on the DBs, but there’s definitely more blame to go around. Some of the blitzes I’ve seen called are downright laughable, and when protecting a lead there seems to be no effort in the playcalling, just line up and go to your zones.
A game against the browns is just what this D needs. I hope.

Orr has another year as DC at least. Sorry to say this but I think the FO and Harbaugh will hold the lack of execution by the players as the reason for the poor performance by the defense rather then the play calling and coaching. The Ravens don't typically fire guys in their first year,

Every time Tucker misses a FG, we lose the game. Also, I think he was perfectly capable of making the kick, he just whiffed and it cost us.
