The Random Thought Thread

I think I said today this might be the worst Ravens defense of all time, nvm, Josh McCown threw for 457 yards against this defense in 2015 so its not THAT bad lol.

Watching other games today, it’s wild how much teams suffer when they pay good QBs elite money (looking at you Dak). It’s much nicer paying an elite QB elite money.

Really puts into perspective how much we struggled after Joe got paid, and that wasn’t half as big of a deal as they ones they get now.

Orr has another year as DC at least. Sorry to say this but I think the FO and Harbaugh will hold the lack of execution by the players as the reason for the poor performance by the defense rather then the play calling and coaching. The Ravens don't typically fire guys in their first year,
typically not but it hasn't been this bad in a very very long time if ever and We have tremendous talent on the defense as well which is going to waste.

This might be the first ever “Deez Nuts” in a post game interview. Dallas crumbling

This team desperately needs a kick in the ass on defense.

Play calling
Pass rusher
Execution

anything

tbf i often think he's very clickbaity but hard to say he's wrong on this one
I agree. No way we win, if we can't fix this defense. Probably still make the playoffs from offense alone, but it will be a very frustrating season with this defense playing the way it has been playing.

Legitimate question for those saying we should fire Orr… who would you replace him with?

As far as I can tell, you only have 2 legitimate options on staff right now -

1. Chris Hewitt, who is the pass game coordinator of the 32nd ranked pass defense in the league

2. Dean Pees, who is 75 years old and is clearly only consulting because he is in fact 75 years old

It’s easy to say we need to make a change, but the options are extremely limited in-season.

And this is the only reason reason I haven't said that.

I remember a Ro interview in the offseason when asked about the defense. He gave an answer that didn't seem genuine. The defense was one of my concerns coming into the season so played it as bias. Still could be that but he didn't look confident in it. All these guys didn't just regress.

Seen a post that the defense had somehow gotten worse since Pees return.

Ideally the best candidate is Dean Pees but Hmmm I wonder how much does Chris Hewitt really play into the secondary performance. I wouldn't say he's a bad coach at all cause honestly we have seen cornerbacks develop quite well under his coaching but it definitely seems interesting given that he was made the assistant head coach as well. I wonder how much influence he has on the defense and if it has caused some trouble.
