The Random Thought Thread

And this is the only reason reason I haven't said that.

I remember a Ro interview in the offseason when asked about the defense. He gave an answer that didn't seem genuine. The defense was one of my concerns coming into the season so played it as bias. Still could be that but he didn't look confident in it. All these guys didn't just regress.

Seen a post that the defense had somehow gotten worse since Pees return.
From what I understand of Pees' role, he doesn't have much of a say in anything. He's got a cushy office job where he sits in meetings with the players to consult, and works with Zach 1-on-1. On game days, he's in the booth communicating what he sees from his view.

It may have gotten worse but I would be surprised if it's correlated.

Legitimate question for those saying we should fire Orr… who would you replace him with?

As far as I can tell, you only have 2 legitimate options on staff right now -

1. Chris Hewitt, who is the pass game coordinator of the 32nd ranked pass defense in the league

2. Dean Pees, who is 75 years old and is clearly only consulting because he is in fact 75 years old

It’s easy to say we need to make a change, but the options are extremely limited in-season.
It would have to be Pees. I said it at the time and I still thinks its true, they didn't bring in Pees to mentor, he's the backstop if Orr couldn't get it under control.

I'll reiterate that Pees is 75 years old... and not a spry 75 years old.

There would be legitimate questions of whether he can do the day-to-day grind at that age.

I thought about this this morning. It's for this very reason why I've been adamant about wait-and-see with Orr towards the bye week. If he can't make this unit respectable towards the end of the season, then it's time to find another option.

Before the end of the season will do anyone no favors unless Orr has completely lost the respect of the defense (lost the locker room type beat).

At This point.... what's Ray and Ed Up to? Reed can be our secondary coach and Ray can replace Orr.
That would be a fun change up in the offseason. Ray , not Ed for me.

This shit boils my blood because how many of these led to eventual scoring drives?

Probably more like 4 or 5, guess a couple didn't meet the criteria.
When you're struggling anyway, and have 4 starters injured, definitely can't afford to waste the kind of gifts JW gave us. It was a typical performance from him... Look great, throw for a bunch of yards, but also throw the game away. We just gave it back, numerous times.

We've seen this same shit all season. Should have at least tried to bring in Saleh 3 weeks ago.

Our fuck head of a head coach is too stingy to admit defeat/he made the wrong decision

We will never win another Super Bowl again while being coached by Harbaugh. His first one was won by the legends on defense and Flacco’s otherworldly playoff performance

Yea i get it but I have a feeling we have an accountability issue. Probably starts with our vets who haven't bought into the young Orrs defense. He doesn't have the credibility yet. At least Pees has experience and two super bowls

7-0 team makes two moves at key positions.

If we simply can’t make moves because of money then I understand but if that’s not the case then we need to do something bc this can’t continue.
