The Random Thought Thread

I have zero faith in our team anymore. I’ve always been a positive, energetic, and optimistic fan. As of this year, football has become a weekly chore, where I have to sit through 3 hours of heart pounding and trying my best to not care because I’m tired of the disappointment. Wins don’t bring me even a little bit of joy anymore. A win is like “so tf what” and a loss is “well I saw that coming”

Frankly I’m shocked we turned the chargers game around. That first drive felt like the beginning of our unraveling. We got Lamar and that alone turns shit around often enough, so maybe we won’t unravel mid season and I’m too cynical, but I don’t think it’s cynical to feel that this team has no shot at a ring.
Could be worse man , imagine being a Browns, Raiders, Jags, Cardinals, or Cowboys fan. Sucks we struggle to get over the hump in January but so much of this is random or luck. I thought 2011 was our year(heart breaking) and 12 we had no shot with the Pats and Broncos being 13-3

every game i watch, im watching with thoughts about what it will mean for our playoff run

we've got a 3 game lead vs the 8th seed in the wildcard race with only 5 left to play, we could lose out and we still would probably have a decent chance of getting in as the 7th seed lol

This where I’ve been for a few years. Can’t live and die each week with good and bad performances, it’ll drive you nuts. The reality is it’s the tournament that defines the season, and the hope is we stay/get healthy and make a winning run.

I hear ya. But for me there's one thing that's new in 2024 that brings me any kinda optimism. With our defense being so bad, it's put the offense in a lot of really tough spots. Spots Lamar has honestly not often been in. This year though, Lamar and co have raised to the occasion (some of the time) and won those games from behind. We know they can do it now, whereas before if it wasn't a total blowout we would obviously lose.

What it leaves left is for Lamar and the coaches to get out of their own way mentally. The beautiful thing about that is they get another shot at the Steelers before the playoffs. I'm serious when I say that's the only game I care about the rest of the season. If we can't go in there at home and beat them, we're cooked. But if we can overcome that mental block and just beat them.....

Then maybe this version of a battle tested Lamar can be sprung into a 2012 like postseason

I feel same about both the Steelers and the Chefs. We have some kind of yipps with both of those teams. Beating both of them to get to and win the SB would likely do the trick for them going forward. Both teams are like the hardest part of that video game that frustrated you as a kid getting past a certain spot... for me it was Mega Man 2 - Flash Man and Quick Man. Those Bosses, man! But once beaten, pushovers! lol

I came into this season with zero expectations after the heartbreaking ending last year and it feels amazing. If we make a run and win it all, fucking awesome. If we stall out like we always do, then so be it. I haven’t watched any sports shows and don’t give af about MVP this year (for the most part - it’s tough being a Lamar stan). Last year I couldn’t get enough of how the analysts were on their knees for Lamar and the Ravens lol. Now I just feel…free.

I still maintain the opinion that we’ll never win another championship under Harbaugh, so that plays a big part in it as well. I’ll man up and apologize if he makes it happen, but I’m just grateful that I get to watch a generational talent at QB every week, no the matter the outcome at the end of the season

I have zero faith that John and his coaching staff can outcoach Andy Reid in the playoffs. I feel like our only hope is if a team like the Steelers or Bengals knock them out in the divisonal round.

True pain was getting knocked out of the playoffs by the Steelers all those times back in the day. Fucking TJ Houshmandzadeh’s

In other words, EDC needs to stop throwing all his resources into secondary and get them some BETTER pass rushers!
That's the biggest thing I wanted at the trade deadline, a pass rusher. I'm just so sick of watching QBs have all day in the pocket, then they get a first down because there was no pressure. We just need to disrupt the QBs timing just enough that the interceptions and turnovers will come because of it.

Also..... whatever Taylor Swift Dark Magic voodoo that is allowing all of this to happen. Maybe if she flees the country like the other celebrities then the black magic will wear off and we can finally get rid of the Chiefs.
I wish the nfl would stop parading the kelce brothers in general. They are so fucking wack. We get it Jason, you’re fat and bearded and chug beers on camera, cool, now stfu and stop trying to dance, and Travis you’re gay and your “relationship” is a mere business partnership and we all know you prefer chocolate.

Not football related but I need an outlet for this…

Kendrick Lamar as of 2024 is the most overrated rapper of all time. He has bars but his music is absolute dogshit and it’s been that way since GKMC. It’s okay to hate Drake and still be realistic about Kendrick.
