Ultimately, I think they've played extremely high floor football for a long time now. They stick the blade into undisciplined teams and find ways to win. But they've always seemingly been this team where if the opponent is truly better, they've got no shot. Maybe that's true of any team.

It just seems to me that maybe the boogeyman aspect of playing the Chiefs may begin to fade a little.

just picking out their superbowl opponents ignores the entire AFC they have to overcome every year

Plus ignores the injures both to Mahomes and his OLine that happened the AFC Championship game before having to play Tampa. He could not move in that game and was down both starting tackles.

Just to give a full review. In 7 years the Chiefs WORST years are the 2 years they ONLY made the conference championship game. Furthermore in those 7 years they have only had to play in the WC round 2x because they have had 5 byes. In this 7 year run, focusing on the AFC, because the NFC was already mentioned (though I like that Shanahan is either a genius or a choker depending on whether you want a win against him to be impactful or meaningless), there are a LOT of big wins. 4 wins over Josh Allen and the Bills. Wins over Lamar and Burrow, as well taking down the King Henry Titans and yes he did beat up some lesser QBs like Baker and Trevor but again there is not a serious team in the AFC that the Chiefs did not beat during this run.

If we can dismiss this dynasty then every dynasty ever can be dismissed.
 
Man eagles really bullied kc. Mentally and physically. Goes back to what some of us having been saying that we need those dogs on our team. Cj gardner hitting kelce hard and kelce getting up fast like he gonna do something while gardner sits and his face and dares him lol. Jalen carter a manic too lol. Kelce trying to push jordan davis out the way and davis just sitting there not moving in the slightest lol. Meanwhile, we let kelce punk our kicker and nobody stands up for him

That means the Ravens and Bills really. Occasionally Cincinnati. They've not been good against Cincinnati and we and the Bills are chokers. Or maybe we're chokers because of them. Or both.

Its not being dismissed. The first thing I said is its literally unprecedented success. It's just interesting to me that during this window of domination they have a lot of wins against choke artist teams.

I don't know why people fixate on only parts of what im saying. The point is Mahomes has a lottttt of Mahomes magic against chokers. There's literally none against teams that are better than his.

Because your core argument is "they weren't as good as we thought they were". What people think is that this was the best run in the history of the NFL, well Super Bowl NFL, and it is not particularly close which makes them the strongest dynasty in the Super Bowl era. That is how good people think they are and it is deserved. They beat all types of teams. I find it hilarious though that what people think of these teams and coaches depends entirely on the narrative pushed.

For example "young Jalen Hurts" was 2nd in MVP voting that year, to Mahomes. "Young" Jalen Hurts had more starting experience than Mahomes when he won his first Super Bowl. Meanwhile those 49ers teams are some of the most loaded rosters in the NFL and Shanahan is still considered a top 5 NFL coach. History is not going to take any shine off of those wins.

And even then, we left a number of points on the board. Two missed kicks, the missed opportunity to Andrews for 7, the overthrow to Likely which would've put us into FG range. Slight chance we would've put up 30 but moot point.

I don't understand why you don't get that I recognize them as probably the best dynasty of all time in terms of result. Its unambiguous.

With that being said, I've been told Mahomes is the best player in history, a lock to surpass Brady and they're invincible. All I can tell you is I saw a lot of Mahomes magic earlier in his career against teams without QBs and teams that choke. I've also seen him get squarely demolished by teams that were better than him.

If we are being told he will surpass Brady that implies he has not yet. We are maybe 1/3-/2/5 through his career and it has been better than Brady so far so yes he is on pace to be the GOAT, but again if you are something will happen that implies that it has not yet. Meanwhile, I could just as easily start poking holes in Brady's Super Bowls but it would be stupid because he won them.

By the way I get you want to call Shanahan a choke artist but the reason I think no one will look back and lessen Mahomes for it is because no one buys that narrative. He is considered an offensive genius. If you want to say he is an offensive genius who seems to not be able to win the big games then I would say "are you describing Kyle Shanahan or Andy Reid before he got Mahomes?" 20-25 teams would fire their head coach on the spot if they were told Kyle Shanahan wanted to coach them.

Finally no one has said the Chiefs are invincible this year. The entire narrative around them is that they are the weakest Chiefs team in memory and that they are just barely getting these wins through a lot of fluky plays. I can hundreds if not thousands on hours of TV where the shows would call this way of winning unsustainable. That is hardly the talk that surrounds a team that is "invincible". This was probably the first Chiefs team during Mahomes era where it felt like they were scraping by.

Mahommes being compared to brady should have never been a narrative to begin with.. i dont even know how and why people believe that kind of stupidity.
