The Random Thought Thread

It's a real shame we aren't sitting 3-3 or even 2-4 currently because there's really no standout team this year. There are a handful of bad ones still but parity is quite high right now.
 
A Seattle sports revival... Mike Macdonald has the Seahawks at 4-2, and now the Mariners are one game away from their first ever World Series appearance.

Yeah the Chiefs look hot right now. Their record doesn’t show it, but Mahomes is playing some of his best ball ever. He might not have the stats like he did the 55+ TD season, but he is playing his best ball possibly in his career. This pains to say but he does feel like the runaway favorite for MVP and I do not think any team looks like they can compete outside of the Colts and I don’t think I can trust Daniel Jones to beat Mahomes in the playoffs.

When the playoffs come around, the chiefs are gonna quietly cruise to the 1 or 2 seed, Pacheco and kelce will keep the chains moving and we’ll say “they can’t just keep barely making these plays can they? Andy Reid can’t dial up one of these on EVERY third and fourth down can he?” But they will keep doing it. A deep completion or two to further the lead every game, a few flags, and their defense, and boom they cruise to another Super Bowl and it’s gonna feel like they didn’t even do anything special to get there.

It will take a heroic effort from a star qb like Lamar or Allen, on top of help from the refs, and bad luck/poor execution/missed opportunities from the chiefs, for anyone to have a chance of stopping this trend.

The chiefs are too much of a well oiled machine. They are every bit as good, if not better, than Belichicks patriots. Mahomes isn’t Brady, but as a whole they are such a well coached team, I’m truly jealous of what those fuckers have as a coaching staff and the fact that they never really have to worry about losing their playbook on either side of the ball due to coordinators leaving for HC jobs.
