The Random Thought Thread

Keaton Mitchell speed is definitely a problem but honestly I worry about how effective can he be when teams start being concerned about him and being properly prepared for him especially on those outside zone stretch plays .
I think if you keep them in the 4-5 carries/game kind of range, it won't be an issue. The problem is you'll have people who think he should start getting 10-15 touches because his YPC is higher, and then you'll start to see more creep into the negative plays and pitfalls associated with that.

And unfortunately he's largely a one-dimensional runner who's not doing anything in pass protection or as a receiver, so that's going to cap his impact no matter what.

I think the kid has shown enough to get 5-10 touches a game. Yes, he is not great in pass pro but if the run game isn't working and getting stuffed at the line wouldn't it make sense to give him opportunities in space and have him attack towards the sideline?

I mean 5, sure. That's his range now. 10 is very high. Even if they're "balanced" on offense you're only running it like 25-30x a game. 10 is a huge chunk of that.

I think eventually you'll need him as a decoy. He'll never be in the game on obvious passing down, and eventually if you put him out there without Henry it'll be fairly obvious what the call is.

I agree. I don't think he's a guy you want to get 10- 15 carries a game . Its obvious that the coaching staff see him as a one dimensional running back . Hopefully he can develop further in regards to pass protection and as a receiver. I do wonder if the ravens will continue to keep 4 running backs active if they do start to get Keaton Mitchell involved more going forward.

I'm guessing it's just the shock of a team that should be good that isn't good and trying to find something to latch onto in order to explain it.

Coaches, players, front office, step-uncles, whoever decided to remove all of the stuff... I maintain that if you felt the need to do that then I believe there are bigger problems.

Honestly, I sort of believe it was the players. I wouldn't be surprised if Kyle Van Noy be like "get these games tf outta here until we win games" because he is visibly pissed. Not sure how the Ravens locker is but maybe guys bring that stuff in or paid for it or something and now want it out because they feel like some aren't as focused.

I agree with @rmcjacket23. If the head coach removed it, I don't see why he wouldn't own up to it. He doesn't answer to anyone and doesn't really seem to care what anyone thinks besides Bisciotti.

As for who leaked it, could be some of the younger guys who are pissed that they removed it and think it's the coaches.

Well, now we know who decided to remove all the fun activities from the Ravens locker room. Marlon "The Mouth" Humphrey with the reveal.

I know your point still stands, @Simba, but this is funnier hearing it's Lamar who did it. Honestly, it all makes sense now but also I find it that much funnier (in a sad way) with respect to your comment about there being larger problems.

Nice

See…He realized he shouldn’t been sittin’ on his ass playin’ those video games. LMAO!

Great to see LJ step up.
I know damn well too that Lamar is a have fun kinda guy. This actually feels like it could be a fairly big deal, what with the bye, these stories, totally different looking team in all facets on Sunday. If there’s anyone whose message will be heard, it’s Lamar. He’s the ray AND ed of these 2020s ravens.

Game 3 of the World Series refuses to end lol. Heading to the 17th inning now, 2am on the East Coast and almost midnight on the west coast lol.
My roommate works for the mlb and he our 2 friends are there rn - with work at 6 am. So ass lol (dodgers parking lot also takes 30+ minutes to exist best case)

Hopefully it was some of the vets that made the decision to remove the stuff. It takes solid character teammates to breed accountability on a squad , something this team has usually had in the past. Just hasn't seemed like there's been any alpha dogs in the pack, maybe some are finally stepping up.
Tank will love this one, but Marlon said that Lamar is the one who asked for the ping pong tables and games to be removed.

If memory serves me, Mike Green primarily rushed from the RT in college right? And he’s been primarily rushing from the LT for the ravens from what I’ve seen.

I wonder if simple lack of muscle memory, firing off of a different back leg, leading with the opposite hand, etc. has slowed him down early on in his career, on top of being given half-rush assignments so he doesn’t lose contain among other things.

I know that some rushers can naturally rush from any stance/alignment and some cant or need to develop the muscle memory, same with CBs and OL, and I wonder if Mike Green takes a huge step forward with just more and more reps rushing from the blind side because he’s physically not accustomed to it yet

It never ceases to amaze me. In a matter of 10 days:
1. John took out the tables. The reaction - "desperation, upset parent punishing their children unfairly for having fun after hard work"
2. Players take credit for it - "they're just covering for John. He still ass".
3. Lamar did it - "that's true leadership from the great and powerful warrior".

And that, ladies and gentleman, is why fans are almost entire ignored from an opinion standpoint.
