I've been pretty consistent on this...

I don't know what that has to do with what I said, but in any case...

I'm in favor of the players having the options available, but I also think it's an incredibly dumb thing to make a huge deal out of. If the players think it'll help, so be it, but I think this would be one of the last reasons for a turnaround.

However, I will say this- I think it's a really dumb talking point in the first place and is only a talking point because the Ravens are far below expectations.

It’s ridiculous it seems like the refs have no issue calling false starts or forward progress being ended when other teams run it. But with the eagles it all goes out the window, forward progress is as long as it needs to be until the eagles have gotten the yards they need, however, if Hurts fumbles in the process well then the play was clearly over, dead ball.

The eagles get the most preferential ref treatment next to the chiefs

I've been on the side of keep the play but ref it properly. Since they only seem to call it fair for every team besides the Eagles get rid of it. The play is already giving them a huge advantage before you add in lining up incorrectly and false starts.

They need the manfred man in the playoffs. I know they kept it to reg season to keep old foggy fans' heads from exploding, but c'mon man. such a GREAT game, but I turned it off in the 10th because i knew they wouldn't pitch to Ohtani and w/o the manfred man it was going to go 15+. Manfred man would have forced the Jays to pitch to ohtani at least once or twice too.

But nobody wants to admit the manfred man is great for baseball so crickets about that from fans and media.

It's not specific to anything you said. Just yet another of those stories where it showcases fan biases and how they can have different opinions on the impact of decisions based on the inherent biases they already have. Especially when the fact pattern doesn't change at all.

Yeah, this is one of the more... annoying trends in all facets of life.

I know that some rushers can naturally rush from any stance/alignment and some cant or need to develop the muscle memory, same with CBs and OL, and I wonder if Mike Green takes a huge step forward with just more and more reps rushing from the blind side because he’s physically not accustomed to it yet

he rushed off both sides in college
looked equally effective from both sides in preseason

i dont think that's any part of this tbh

with regards to CB and OL, CBs do often have preferred sides but it's less critical in terms of their movements because of the way they have to flip their hips and often have to be square in their backpedal anyway

OL it's critical when they swap sides, many OL guys and coaches have said swapping sides is like trying to wipe your arse with the wrong hand, easier to change positions sometimes than it is to swap from one side to the other

I’m thinking Mike too.

That said, on paper we have the best secondary in the league but our pass rush is so bad that the secondary looks bad as a result, prime sizzle could quite possibly turn that around entirely.

But I also think Mike Mac is getting great production out of our defense, we have guys who can blitz to create pass rush if we have the right guru to dial it up
 
I want to caveat that I think there have been a lot of positive signs out of Buchanan over the last few weeks... but how weak is this rookie class if he's the rookie of the month?

a lot of up and down guys

teddye's played a ton of snaps this month and there's not that many immediate defensive starters in the league from the last draft class
and tbf that's not a surprise, we were talking about how weak this class was at the top since january so for there to not be that many obvious candidates to choose from is not that surprising

also a few of the big defensive 1st rounders have been injured (especially at DL)

surprised that nick emmanwori wasn't the selection

on the plus side, it really does feel like we've found something in buchanan - the fact he's not playing full speed yet but is still playing well is a great sign

We lost in London to the jags by 40 because our players cared more about politics than football. The jaguars players , pay no attention to what they did also , irrelevant!
 
I have no idea how Teddye won that award. It's hard to even say he's played well. Im in no way saying he's been atrocious and a Brandon Stephens level liability, but I've seen plenty of really terrible snaps from him. And not a ton of real gamebreaking snaps positively. Seems to me like he's playing at a very low end starter level. Which is impressive! But how could there not be any rookie playing better than that?

He’s been pretty damn good, didn’t think he was flashy or anything so I’m a little surprised to hear it, but I guess this isn’t a flashy rookie class
