The Random Thought Thread

Assuming the new guys pan out in this defense, I would think that late season we’ll see a lot of KVN and dre’mont jones on early downs, with Mike green and Carl Lawson on obvious pass downs.

Thats a pretty solid upgrade over what we’ve had at any point this year. Idk what’s up with oweh blowing up as soon as he leaves here but he was god awful here this season, ojabo has been not good at all, KVN hasn’t been doing much in the pass rush, tavius Robinson was giving us next to nothing in the pass rush. With these 4 guys I think we have a pretty well defined rotation, and hopefully Mike green continues to play well and takes steps. This edge group won’t take over games, but with some good 5 man rushes sprinkled in i think this can be a respectable pass rush

mike green's been so good against the run, i don't see them wanting to take him off the field on early downs

think it's more that KVN will play more DPR snaps, dre'mont jones will play early downs and will hopefully kick inside as an interior rusher

tbh i think it's more that they'll all play on passing downs and that Lawson won't be in the rotation much on early downs

Think Robinson is good for what he is. He was never supposed to be some dynamic pass rusher, but he can at least turn it on and get the job done at times. He's there for his toughness and smarts. As long as you aren't expecting him to be a 10 sack guy, he's a good player.

they traded away all those picks so that they could try and draft some studs like Sauce Gardner and Quinnen Williams...

obviously being facetious... but...

i do feel sorry for Jets fans who can't even feel really hopeful about this rebuild because they've done this same rebuild over and over and over again for about 50 years - and it just proves once again that you cannot compete without a QB

Ditto. He’s a solid player. He’s worthy of an extension imho and does good dirty work. Sets the edge well and can do a little rush. I think he could be a 5 sack guy which isn’t bad

I had a feeling.

I was going to say that there’s a thread that exists for that and thanks to it many members have never came back.

I didn’t realize how many till a while ago when I went back in there to see. I’d love for them to come back

It's why I left it as vague as possible letting people come to their own conclusion.

As for their sports teams, I mean they just don't have any luck. Having all these firsts don't mean nothing if you don't land your Franchise QB with one, and find studs to replace Williams and Gardner.
