Still haven't heard anything

this is a little weird - i was expecting to see something happen by now - maybe over the weekend - i suppose they also dont have to necessarily do it by the time the tampering period begins - my best guess is maybe we see some activity before the league office closes today but more likely we see stuff come out on monday morning or something like that

At this point I would repurpose all of my resources to go get Sitton and Norwell, move Yanda to center, and then draft back to back WRs in teh first two rounds

how about the resident capologist we had on the boards. Can't remember his screen name
I know rmcjacket was one, but didn't Brian McFarland from RSR create an account or was it someone else from a different site because I remember that's all he talked about which was insightful, mind you.

Yeah I figured something would've happened by today. Still, I'm not too worried with the inactivity from our FO. They're probably strategizing as we speak.

I can only imagine what the emotions are gonna be like on Draft Night(s)/Day. Sheesh people. Legal tampering period hasn't begun and we're known to not making big-ass splash moves. Let's see what happens when we play the season out.

Waiting for out of their prime cap cuts with diminishing skills.

with the roster the browns are assembling and they are not done yet the hc job there becomes very desirable if hue does not begin to win games. they are very young as well. they should sign keenum or bridgewater to push taylor. lamar jackson could be a good fit for them as well. they have the receivers and rb in barkley. our front office cannot screw up the draft if we are to challenge for the division. steelers have receivers and the rb and cincy has receivers and the rb but ??'s with the o-line. we have zero receivers, avg te at best and i am not sold on collins being the guy. i have seen one hit wonders a ton in my lifetime. he needs to show me more between the tackles. ozzie went defense for 3 straight drafts and the players they drafted on offense aside from stanley have been busts thus far so it sets us back even more. it is going to be challenge now to get the offense up to speed especially with the stupid restructures they made to veteran players over the years. maybe trading some of our high priced players should be the way to go to create some space and acquire draft picks

In addition, there will be another collective bargaining agreement in a few years and this will increase the cap even more (with new TV deals) as well.

Many of the contracts have restructure dollar amounts built into the contract.
if the fans continue to stay away and if tv viewership continues to decline than the cap may not increase as much if at all

probably gonna sound like a flacco apologist but im just gonna point out that the stat is neutral here not inherently positive or negative because of all the factors it encompasses...

that stat is interesting because it tells me flacco had 0 confidence in his receivers to get open until they were most definitely open (not excusing flacco's poor play for most of the year but that stat isnt inherently on the qb - also doesnt account for different offensive systems (timing-based systems are gonna inherently be lower down on the chart (see new england) and trickeration heavy systems are gonna inherently be higher (see seattle and KC))

add to that the fact that better receivers need less separation to be "open"

its not necessarily a bad or good thing to be higher or lower on that list - there are good offences at both ends of that list as well as in the middle

that being said i imagine the stat would look very different if you split joe's season in half and that flacco would be closer to the top end of that list earlier in the year and more towards the middle to end the year...

the article is not wrong that as per usual everything in the season hinges on flacco but using that stat to justify it doesnt really make much sense tbh

Serious question. I was opposed to getting a qb this draft. Still feel they should just focus on best team possible for this season, unless someone they truly covet falls and then trade up. My question is, would you want this current group drafting a qb(early) or wait for a new regime?
