Joe Flacco

No - Minkah all the way. This D needs a boss on the field.
Yeah - I get it. It just shows how desperate we are across the board. There is no one out there now to grab the team by the throat and say, get off of your nod and play some ball. Suggs is the only one who has it and he appears to be losing it.

At the same time, we have to have to have to prepare to move on from Joe. Next year sounds like a good year to do it but that will depend on where we draft. If we can't draft one of the top prospects, we do have enough needs that we have to take a play maker AND leader, no matter what position.

What’s the penalty for cutting/trading Flacco this offseason? Serious question...

I feel like it will take a HC change to start with new QB.
I agree - it absolutely will. If we retain Harbaugh - which I really hope we don't if we continue this slide to the end of the season - then I really will not want to see us draft a QB. I just don't know how Harbaugh can retain his job long term and we want the new QB to be connected with a long term HC.

In 2015, I refused to losses as a good thing in the hopes of a higher draft pick. This year, I think I'm going to change my tune. I felt like then - losing was more damaging to the psychology of the team than it was beneficial to get higher picks in the draft. Now, I think the psychology of this team is already shot. If we can't beat Miami at home and we go on the road and take a very predictable loss at TN, this season is toast.

I just can't see doing more than looking for individual bright spots along the way, but rising to the top 10 of the draft. We need help, badly.

God that’s ridiculous. This would be his last year as a Raven if he didn’t sign that fucking extension.
We just continued to double down on Joe. We're stuck with him next year for sure- possibly even the year after that. He has virtually no shot of being on this team in 2020, unless he has some miraculous turn-around, which I think is reaching powerball levels of probability.

So if he plays the way he’s been playing, we have to deal with this for two more years? Surely there’s been a situation like this in the NFL before where a rookie QB overtook the starting job and put his million dollar QB on the bench because he couldn’t be cut?

We can still improve the skill positions / O line over next 2 years, which will ultimately help Flacco, too. If we are able to do that, suffering should subside.

Certainly could be. When I said we're stuck with him, I really only meant stuck with him being on the team and sucking cap.

If we draft a guy high Joe may very well end up on the bench. I'm sure he'd be put off at having to compete for the job.
