Joe Flacco

Anyone else watch the pressers today? Joe got salty at questions about the offense and seemed frustrated I wonder if he sees all the criticism or what but he never lashes back like he did today it was actually nice to see lol

No, I didn't see the pressers, but I did read about it. Glad he reacted that way.

Well at least he gives a damn at least. He's spoken about his problems in the past and has held himself accountable. But actions speak louder than words. Let's see if he can fix these issues.

Joe doesn't have the time to throw long balls. I'm not defending his play though which as been very subpar.

There is only one guy on our offensive line that is a starter in the NFL and that is Stanley.

Stanley, hurst and Jensen are adequate. don't know bout the others. they are new to being a unit and that's gonna cause some disruptions.
we can't take back not resignin osemele or heal yanda for sunday

you have to go to war with the army you have so we get some runnin yards and throw deeper or we miss the playoffs again

You have to understand the cap and realize we couldn't pay Osemele tackle money. The Raiders opened up the coffers because they had the cap space, a lot of it.

Great point! And THAT has been one of my major gripes about Flacco.

The Ravens are my team. I'll be at the game on Sunday in support of them to get a "W" over our heated rivals. However, I'm just so sick and tired of the inconsistency with the QB. I hate it with a passion! Regardless of how hard I come down on him, I want Flacco to succeed and to look "great" while doing it! That's my expectations from the starting QB of my team. And I make no apologizes for that!

I don't need him to be Manning, I don't need him to be Brady, Brees or Rodgers etc., I just don't need him to be a BUM! And as for now, and what I've seen from him over the past few seasons within a 10 year span; he's a BUM in comparison to so many others in the league that came in before him and even from those who came after him. He's a sub-par, sub-mediocre QB. Every now and then he may "flash" being a good QB but after 10 years in this league as a "STARTER," should he merely be "flashing" every now and then or "should he be" a good QB by now?

Wait! Let me guess....NEXT SEASON....his 11th....will be Joe's year....right? SMH! :D:cool:
It is just aggravating to see how easily he gets rattled and confused by smart defenses. He's not a very football bright QB clearly or he just processes information much slower than other good QBs. This doesn't make him unintelligent, but it just makes him slow. Second, his laid back lackadaisical attitude about losses and terrible performances is just not acceptable anymore. It is getting on the nerves of every fan out there.

I excpect Bell and Brown to go off on the Ravens defense and also expect the Steelers D terrorize Flacco for a QB rating in the single digits again!

well i guess you gotta aim low, reach your goals and avoid disappointment then
I've learned really quickly the lower my expectations are for this Flacco led offense, the better my heart health is going to be because then I won't have to deal with the heart burn as much...

Sadly , i really don't think Joe has much left in the tank. I give him another year and I'm sure we are already looking for a replacement.

I think partly the reason is he really hasn't had many good offensive lines over his 10 year career here.

Everyone is shitting in joes whole life, but when he hits his stride and the OL finds a small bit of chemistry and he gets comfortable behind them, everyone will act like they were a fan all along.

I'm expecting flacco to struggle a lot in the first half of the season but we still stay competitive, and then in the second half he comes on really strong. Massively reworked OL and coming off a back injury, it can get better, and based on his history I'm betting it will

I agree fans perceptions of players change too quickly and I think quarterbacks are overrated in the media so people think that some quarterbacks work with absolutely nothing and do well. Some do more than others but there have been so much wrong for this team thus far. So many injuries and changes that need to get settled in. The whole offense did not look confident without Yanda. The whole defense didn't look confident without Williams. The Ravens have as many injuries as 1/3 of the total roster they dress on game days by week 4. I really start thinking this team hits its stride by that Vikings game. Probably not a top offense but good enough to be in the middle of the pack.

flacco has 3 td and 4 int to this point. gonna give him the pitsburgh game to show he wants the team on his shoulders. we could still trade him but we wont get a whole lot now. two years ago it would have been a juicy harvest. now we'd be lucky to get a #2.
i would take a 5th just to get rid of that contract

The way I view it is simple. Give the man a good oline and a palpable running game and he'll go back to being himself. A maddeningly inconsistent guy who makes you want to bang your head against the wall, but can still get the job done in big games(hell, the biggest game last year, vs. The Steelers he played well. I still think he's got it. Though I do think the back injury isn't helping, and do think not having Yanda is going to make life harder for him). The running game hasn't really been great since Kubiak left. Joe started really struggling around that time. Why? No consistent starting running back (Forsett was so obviously a product of Kubiak that it wasn't even funny), and run scheme = fucked. Only a select few can run Kubiak's scheme as well as he can(Shannahan being the prime main example). Also doesn't help that our run blockers sans Yanda were absolute shite before we acquired Stanley(who's still actually having a good year as a run blocker. Give the dude time for pass protection). I think getting Greg Roman is going to go a long way. His scheme is good. Like Kubiak he seems to have a lot more bootlegs and whatnot in store, something that Joe excels with. Truth be told, I think Marty is canned at some point lol. I know it's idiotic to keep firing these coordinators(despite the plea and cry of one particular poster). But a return to form is possible imo. Joe has never been the type of guy who makes everyone around him better(few QBs actually do that), he needs a supporting cast to win.. But that's okay. Football is a team sport damnit. That's better than most QBs in NFL history can say.

We... Won't... Get... rid.. of.. Flacco..until... his....contract.... reaches a certain point.

Jesus. I know he's sucked lately, but given the way it's structured, there's no out. We'd lose money via the salary cap for the next few seasons if we cut him. If we traded him there we'd still have to eat the money, so there'd be no point. I'm sure some team(let's go with the niners since Shannahan runs a similar scheme to Kubiak, and Flacco has excelled in that in the past before) thinks that they can rehabilitate him and would be willing to give us a good package. A super bowl winning quarterback doesn't come onto the market too often. The problem is, we cannot afford to trade him. We are the problem. Not them.

Flacco is the master in the NFL at having just as many good games as he does horrible games to make it so the team doesn't want to get rid of him for an known.

It's going to be awesome how many people are going to back up Flacco after Sundays game that were calling for his head this week when he kicks ass.

I think that second point is a great point. Joe is a better QB later in the season than early in it.
