I don't know if you need it but it certainly helps. I'd still much rather have three WR set that I can depend on game in and game out. If you don't have depth at WR then you're going to run into issues. The Patriots have Burkhead, Lewis and Gilisless but they're loaded at WR.

are they? i wouldnt describe cooks, hogan, amendola, mitchell particularly loaded at wr...

They had Edelman too before he was out who is a top tier WR. They run the spread extremely well so having three WRs who can make plays and play solid for you is what I consider loaded. Add in Gronk and that's just a team with tons of weapons to throw it too.

Maybe not all superstars, but they all are consistent, can run routes and have dependable hands. Add in Gronk, now Bennett again, White, Burkhead, Lewis, a capable O line. Also same O coordinator/system consistency for at least 9(?) years.

The system definitely helps, but Brady has shown the ability to succeed in a deep passing offense as well. Also, as we've seen first hand for these dink and dunk offenses to work, you need an ACCURATE qb who can lead wrs and throw them open consistently. You can't just say Bill and McDaniels are the reason for Tom's success, regardless of how much you dislike him@Tank. Middle of the pack might be a stretch.

Brady looked pretty good from 2009 -2011 without Mcdaniels making the pro bowl each season.
Heck he was 1st team all pro in 2010 without Mcdaniels.

Was a pro bowler under Charley Weis as well before Mcdaniels became the OC.....

They’ve had pretty much the same offensive scheme since 2000. All of these things combined, especially consistency of coaching and system, breeds confidence and success. No matter how I feel about Brady as a person I truly believe he would be just OK outside of having those advantages. I mean think about it.....Guys like Cassel and Garrapolo did pretty damn good from the beginning even without a “break in” period. Where are they playing today?

The offensive system they use is Erhardt Perkins with some spread concepts. It’s a terrific system and my first choice for Ravens. That being said, I’d also be ok with Air Coryell.

The key is that they have run it for many, many years and constantly bring in players that fit the system.

my point wasnt that those guys arent good players but more that the reason that system is so effective is because of white, burkhead, lewis, gillislee at rb and the mismatches they create improves everyone on the field

No doubt, and they all are dependable and catch the ball when thrown to them, which the Ravens squad has been lacking. They haven’t had the personnel to create those mismatches and are easily defended.

Even with the personal, we cant mirror that offense. If BB and mcdaniels were coaching this offense then we would probably lose 2 games at the most. This being that flacco is not our Qb though
