Joe Flacco

Thats marred by the fact the worst teams constantly have to draft qbs. I mean the browns must be averaging 1 a year since i started following the nfl.

Regarding atl and the pats, wasn't Julio drafted the year before they started that data set. They also just drafted Ridley. The pats traded a first for cooks.

Just change the date parameters a couple of years and the percentages change quite drastically

I agree with what you are saying but it only contributes to many reasons the Ravens have been void of receiving talent. Draft misses, bad/unfortunate contracts(RR, Pitta, Monroe, etc.) that have eaten into available $, injuries elsewhere that had to be back filled are all to blame. I think they tried with what they had but guys like Wallace and Maclin just didn’t pan out. That said you can’t expect top offensive production without having at least capable receiving talent.

So your saying we have added as much to the offense as we have defense in the 5 seasons since the superbowl?

when you consider the draft , FA, trades and resigning you might be suprised when you take everything into considerations.

we however had more succes with who we brought in on defense then those on offense but that is not the discussion incase you want to go there.

Julio was drafted in 2011, not 2012 and you can’t change it because thst traded for Cooks. They typically have veteran offensive players for the most part in New England
What im saying is... just merely shifting dates a year or two dramatically changes figures.

I used post superbowl to last year for the ravens because anything from this year forward is picks for a planned lamar led team but if i included this year there would be 3 more offensive players drafted round 1 to 3

Not sure pitta was an unfortunate contract. We gave him that after his 1st hip disloctaion, that was just bad management. The rest i can agree with to an extent.

My point was you won't ever find your start elite talent if you don't try. Teams like pitts and green bay draft wr after wr and we have took 1 since torrey smith.

I hope with an ageing Crabtree a 1 yr contract for brown and snead who is a decent but not top player, the ravens will chance their arm at top outside talent for jackson. Someone who fits his skillset

Right, bad/unfortunate and it’s restricted the ability to sign FAs. Also Jimmy’s unreliability and huge contract have eaten into available $ as they have had to carry extra help at CB to cover. A big reason they haven’t been able to give Joe the needed weapons.

There’s also no question the Ravens have historically placed more importance on defense and have drafted that way which accentuates the misses like Reed, Doss, Waller, Perriman, Maclin. But then again, those misses are Flacco’s fault.

On the subject for this year, I wasn’t particularly impressed by the second or third round WRs including Washington. They were all “guys” I personally lumped together. It’s not that they are bad but this draft class was exceptionally weak at WR behind Ridley and Moore for me, that even includes both Ridley and Moore. Also we haven’t invested into offense like we probably should and while I see the debate stating how most teams who win draft defense, I just think we need a little more offense investments and we really need to get better at drafting offensive skill position players early and just early in general. That’s been our biggest issue because we keep going back to the well because we keep missing on these defensive players.

Having to draft back to back mlb safety and dt in back to back years 1 2 and 3 fecked us over.
I used to mention this all the time. Also missing so badly on kindle and Cody.

Sadly, missing on Perriman, maxx, kaufusi, and correa is gonna hurt badly as well. I think this year and next will show us how bad t hurts to miss day 1 and 2 picks, by 2021 we should be caught up hopefully

im just happy my boy tavon young is coming back. Probably gonna take him a while to get back in rhythmb but atleast those ball skills and instincts will still be there
It was almost one year ago, so he should be back to himself with practice and preseason games.

One thing for sure is that Jackson is bringing major attention to Bmore. Just a small example - nearly every single day since the draft, NFL.com ran an article on him.
This kid better be as good as we all think he can be.

This is the kind of attention Baltimore football was missing till Lamar Jackson... he is an attention magnet with his incredible feats in college I suppose. If he can continue on that trajectory in the NFL, we'll soon be the most followed team in football! Think about the tangible financtal benefits it would result for bisciotti and the Ravens? Fuller stadiums, more jersey sales, national fandom increases, etc...

Higher ticket prices

I'm just gonna hang back in the corner with a Natty Boh and cautious optimism. I feel quite a few of you are setting yourself up for some sort of disappointment. I love this draft and I especially love the Jackson pick, but I see this EVERY SINGLE YEAR.

I do wonder how salty Joe is at this point. All eyes on Jackson. All the rooks talking about Jackson. I know he's Joe Cool but I'm really curious which way Joes psyche is going to go with this one. He's never seen anything like this in B'More........

As a fan, I've never seen this QB situation before in Baltimore. Last time there was real qb competition it was Boller vs Wright.

i hope this isnt a thing... flacco doesnt deserve to be fucking crucified by the whole fanbase. he brought us our 2nd super bowl for christs sake. how is it that trent dilfer was loved here and everyone went apeshit that we didnt bring him back, but flacco cant be appreciated for what he did here...
I agree, he doesn’t deserve to be disrespected.
