I can't remember who at ESPN said it, but they said the Pats are going all-in on 2021. They're just picking competent players to build a structure. I don't think they were in much of a position to get a QB they wanted this year.

Think they're on the bandwagon of "very few teams will want one next year, and we'll get one then".

That, or, and this is entirely possible, Belichick's ego is so gigantic that he thinks he can literally win with anybody.

Need a full year and offseason to see if that's true.
