Hall of Famer
Week 5 is here.... this season needs to slow the hell down so we can enjoy it. If you had any doubt about parity in the NFL, this season shows parity is alive and kicking in 2017. Who would have thought the Jaguars, Bills and Rams would be leading their division through 4 weeks of the NFL season. With some teams on a BYE to escape the craziness of this season, let's look ahead at week 5!
Patriots @ Buccaneers: Start Jameis Winston, Mike Evans and any Offensive Player for Tampa this week. The Patriots defense is giving up 456.8 YPG, 8th team in NFL history to score AND allow 30 points per game over the first four games of the season. Tampa can prove to be real contenders by coming away with a huge win over the Super Bowl champs.
Jets @ Browns: Someone should tell the Jets they are doing this whole tanking thing wrong. They have won back to back games and look for their third straight win over the helpless Browns. Browns will get Myles Garrett back which will make things interesting but we'll see how fully healthy he is.
Panthers @ Lions: The Panthers are coming off a huge road win against the Patriots and look to win 3 straight road games to start the season. Will Detroit keep their NFC North dreams alive with a win over the Panthers?
49ers @ Colts: This game is a toss up, both teams are bad and if a double digit loss by the Seahawks wasn't enough to fire Pagano, losing to the 49ers may just be the last straw.
Titans @ Dolphins: So much for the Titans being division contenders in 2017, there wasn't much there early on but without Mariota(even if it's only for a few games) their playoff hopes are in jeopardy.
Bills @ Bengals: The Bills are surprisingly sitting atop the AFC East and taking advantage of the bad Patriots defense. The Bengals got their first win against the Browns.... Yay? Can the Bills defense give the Bengals offense some trouble after finding its groove with a new offensive coordinator.
Chargers @ Giants: The 0-4 Bowl, and someone has to win unless they decide to tie. Can the Chargers finally get a win as the LA Chargers or will the Giants finally win a damn game?
Jaguars @ Steelers: If you would have thought this game would feature 2 division leaders, you've won a lot of money. The Jags come in atop the AFC South and look to upset the Steelers much like the Bears did.
Cardinals @ Eagles: The Eagles sit 3-1 while the Cardinals look to find their footing against father time. The NFL's oldest team(Cardinals) travels across country to Philly for a early season NFC matchup.
Seahawks @ Rams: The Seahawks rebounded against the terrible Colts at home but travel to Los Angeles where one of the LA teams is committed to winning for the fan base. Can the Seahawks offensive line hold up against a defense that once again Wade Phillips is slowly turning into something good.
Packers @ Cowboys: A NFC Playoff rematch as the Packers return to Dallas to once again knock off the Cowboys in the Big D. At 2-2, the Cowboys have come back down to earth after last season's rookie breakthrough season. The Packers meanwhile look to once again be contending with the Lions to see who sits atop the NFC North.
Chiefs @ Texans: The Chiefs magical season heads to Houston where they look to start 5-0 for the first time since 2013. It also helps that they are winners of 8 straight road games and look to make it 9 Sunday Night. Or can Deshaun Watson deliver the Chiefs their first loss of the season?
Vikings @ Bears: Um... John Fox had no choice but to start rookie Mitchell Trubisky. He gets his first start under the bright lights of Monday Night Football against the Minnesota Vikings who still don't have Sam Bradford back. They also lost Dalvin Cook to an ACL injury so yeah, this will not be the game to put up massive points.
