Nelson would make a world of difference compared to Kirk. What I have to ask, if we had Nelson would it have made a winning difference against the Bears today? Now if we had Kirk, think we could have won?

I don't buy that at all. The line wasn't that bad today. So many other teams, probably 25/32 have the same problem it worse. Flacco can't hit a god damn slant if the guy is wide open.it would have made a huge difference - flacco had no room to throw because of pressure from inside - he couldnt step into throws, he had to get rid of the ball too quickly, it meant we had not time to throw deep except that one time with the miss to perriman
the bears blitzed but they very rarely left themselves in pure man coverage and the lack of creativity in our coordinators would mean all we're doing with kirk is putting him on the field in stead of maclin/perriman - sure it diversifies the routes we run but it doesnt increase the playmaking potential on the outside by a huge amount whereas quenton nelson maybe springs a few more of those 2 yard runs into 6 yard runs or gives flacco an extra second or two in the pocket because eluemunor hasnt missed the delayed blitz or stunt, or because hurst hasnt been bulled into flacco's lap
when a qb has time they can do whatever they want - look at the bears today - they had literally no receivers and somehow still put up a few points and moved the football because trubisky was rarely under pressure until the end of the game

I'm not even a big fan of Kirk but if he catches even one of the balks that bounce if our "receiver" hands, we probably win. Maclin is good but we don't even use him right. Wallace catches s bomb once every 3 games then fades into nothing. The only time Perriman has even tried to catch he gets lit the hell up. He could run a 3.1 40 for all I care but doesn't mean shit if he can't track the ball or catch it.
It's very well documented that Flacco can't play under pressure. It's that simple. Yesterday he had Hicks and Co in his face all game long. We're not going to move the ball with this QB and this OL. So either you make a huge gamble on a young QB, either you boost your OL (and btw find some skill players deserving of that name, with a gameplan).I don't buy that at all. We should have spent a lot of the past drafts taking the cowboys approach and building an OL. Whitehair in 2016, and lamp last year would've made such a difference, but don't get me wrong I still like the Humphrey pick and so far it's looking like the right one, but to have better olinemen would've made such a difference.
Taking Nelson would make the biggest difference and there is zero risk there.
Going with the thought of whitehair at guard, and to assume lamp would've been solid starting caliber at worst wouldn't be the craziest assumptiontbf we dont know if lamp would have been a good pick given that he's not played a down this year - whitehair i agree with (although he's had an awful sophomore year so far) but i guess if he was playing for us he probably would be at guard not center

Tried to defend Correa even though I didn't like the pick when it was made, but boy were there better options.given that correa has officially lost the starting wlb spot to onwuasor then its pretty clear that whitehair would be an improvement but im not sure id want to lose humphrey for lamp even with how bad this oline is at the moment

It’s also possible Jensen would be at guard and Whitehair would be at center.tbf we dont know if lamp would have been a good pick given that he's not played a down this year - whitehair i agree with (although he's had an awful sophomore year so far) but i guess if he was playing for us he probably would be at guard not center

I agree, but we may have had him there last season and most likely wouldn’t have changed him this season.with the way he's been snapping the ball i dont want whitehair at centre at all lol

You’re right, it is interesting that we haven’t had many issues with Jensen snapping the ball. Figured with a first year Center we would have. Knock on wood.that's possible but if hed been snapping the ball that bad i imagine we might have switched him at this point - ive been surprised we've had very few issues with ryan snapping the ball to joe

Probably, but game action is a lot different than practice. You see different looks from different players in many different circumstances, but yeah, practice does help.i think part of it might be that he has always been a "reserve" centre so will have had snaps with joe/ the backup qbs before even if it wasnt as a starter whereas a lot of the rookie centres are getting thrown straight into the fire because of the dearth at the position
