The OL Thread

From Preston's report at the time , he was taking first team reps (with Lewis absent) and was really progressing in his sets and in pass pro.

oh i dont remember that - what was the timing of his injury (i dont remember i guess) was it during training camp or was it before training camp?

interesting so at least we've seen him with pads on then at least a little - was yanda practicing (and did we have austin howard at this point?)
because if that is the case then it's interesting
Yanda yes, Howard no (never practiced in TC that I remember)

so our line would have been Stanley, Siragusa, Jensen, Yanda, Hurst

so that means Goose was beating out eluemunor, skura (would have been interesting in hind sight to see how he was thought of vs hurst...)

Is there any doubt about that?
I mean, Goose was a slam dunk pick, the dude was as powerful a run blocker as you could find and brought much more physicality than Hurst and Skura.

$3 mil. savings releasing him but I’m not so sure they do. He provides valuable depth that you may not be able to replace for those $. We’ll see, maybe there’s a different plan........could also hinge on what happens with Hurst.
well part of the problem is we would need to pay Howard his option at the beginning of the new league year. We can't wait to see what happens with Hurst. However, I agree, cutting him may not make sense, considering how much we would be saving, based on the cost of finding a replacement.

i hope his ligaments have healed up well by the time training camp comes around then - even if he ends up just as a depth lineman we need some good news on the oline

would be nice. Definitely was a very bad injury.

the reading of it was not dissimilar to the teddy bridgewater injury and nico definitely plays a position that will put more consistent stress on it so on paper at least im not confident he'll be ready for week 1 but obviously we dont know the specifics of the injury and my hope is that he can rehab and be strong and ready to go for training camp's start (albeit that's now a week earlier with the HOF game)

Has anyone watched Kolton Miller, LT UCLA. He is an amazing run blocker and good in pass pro. He has good size strength and is A technician. Has anyone watched him?

Idk. I have him fourth or fifth on my big board at the tackle position. He has some concerns but I think he’s a high ceiling low floor type personally. We trade back and look for a RT in the first round and I wouldn’t be pissed with him

Considering how well the Ravens have been coaching up 0-linemen recently, I'd be okay rolling the dice on a low floor, high ceiling type of guy. Would still prefer Wynn or Price in a trade down, but Miller would be a solid choice.

Gets consistent push in the run game but if he comes up against a real edge threat in the Nfl it won't be pretty. Gets knocked off balance too easily and loses inside several times in the two games I've been able to see. Also will struggle with speed at times.
I'm going to have to watch his tape at right tackle....do like him particularly in run game but would not take him in the first round based on what I've seen so far.

no question, I'd prefer these two over Kolton, especially if we let jensen walk.

So, Price only had an incomplete tear. He'll be okay by training camp.

Cappa has really solidified himself as a very good guard and maybe even right tackle. Dominated lower competition but backed it up at senior bowl and combine numbers. Would like to see him continue to get even stronger. He could be a pro bowl caliber
