The OL Thread

Yanda is still playing. We should sort out more pressing needs first, pass catchers and interior pass rush.
For how many more healthy years? He's a legend, but he's pretty up there in age and has had a ton of injuries. Hell, he just missed most of last season. We can't just keep pushing off finding a replacement.

And he's basically the only good guard we have.

I wonder what the plan will be with Hurst resigned. Where will he play and what position will we select?

"Orlando Brown going through drills run by Eagles OL coach Jeff Stoutland. He looks faster than timed. Lost 5 pounds since combine, went from 14 lifts in Indy to 18 today. Improved 40 from 5.77 at combine to 5.65 today, on slow track."

this is both good and bad - good because its improved to slightly less extremely bad - bad because it indicates that he just didnt work at all before the combine - and that lack of motivation/effort is worrying - like why didnt he put that work in before the combine so that he didnt embarrass himself?

Shouldn't be touched in round one but if he was there in round two I'd be tempted.

I have a hard time finding something not to like about Conner Williams. He looks like a left tackle to me with rare balance; equally skilled in run and pass protection. Plays angry and understands angles in the run game. Effortless in his pass pro. I presume he would transition to the right side and if we drafted him, it would please me to know we Have a quality replacement when Stanley is knicked up.

Wasn’t his official time at combine. 5.85. Anyway yes he did improve his time.

If we work it out with Grant and crab, I'm leanin towards OL. It would come down to mcglinchey and Moore if Ridley isn't there.

Billy price could be a savior as well

I'd say we're leaning RT even now. You know I prefer Ragnow to Price but even with that, I seriously doubt we take an interior lineman in round one.
I would rather have Wynn or even Hernandez but I can't see Ozzie/Eric going there.

It is imperative we prioritize the center and RT position to my mind, even at the expense of a first round receiver.

I don't like williams as a tackle. I'd take him in the second as a guard but I think the 2nd is where we gotta target a pass catcher
I think he’s still a tackle in the NFL, he’s just going need some development. Williams never took true pass sets at Texas, McGlinchey is a plug and play RT. If Derwin James(still have hope) isn’t available at 16 I’m leaning towards drafting McGlinchey.

Agree, With Crabtree in and I still think Ridley is gone at 16 then I agree McGlinchey is a great pick for us, but as I have been saying for weeks if James slides which is possible due to teams above needs and QB run...then run the pick in
