Nice to beat down on a team while coming back from last week's practice squad outing.

294 yards rushing - not sure why it took 2 drives to get Dobbins involved and weird that we persist in giving Ingram the start but not much otherwise to complain about. The offensive line and Pat Ricard was mauling those Dallas defenders all game and it was nice to see.

The nicest thing though was just the general vibe. I wonder if the covid outbreak reset the perspective of some of these players. Despite the lack of a passing game, I'm not sure I've seen these guys demonstratively have this much fun all year.

Lamar just looked happy to be playing at all and he ran like he was feeling a lot freer than he has all season.

Not going to make grand sweeping statements about the offence after playing an awful defence but it was nice to see.
 
Not too much good going on in our defense, but want to shout out Derek Wolfe again. He might not be getting tons of sacks or pressures but he’s doing so much dirty work up front to attempt to free others to make the play. Saw numerous times where he’d occupy blockers, but we just couldn’t get the job done.

he also made some plays too - he's been so solid during this stretch of games - really leading by example upfront

the DBs had a rough challenge to try and lock down one of the best WR groups in the NFL (certainly can't think of many better groups) despite the fact that we couldn't get almost any pressure at all

Averett's first game back from injury with less than a week of practice - he should get better with more practice time
 
Weird game. Happy to get the win. There were a bunch of calls that both went for and against us. I thought the officiating was just bad for both sides.

Pass rush was awful. Secondary was a slightly better than awful but bad. Special teams had a rough night. Tucker with a very short miss induced by a penalty. Long return for Pollard. Passing game was pretty bad outside of a few throws.

All that being said, we did what we needed to and I think did a decent job for lots of guys returning from injury, Covid, and lack of practice. We also seemed to escape without any major injuries which is nice.

I can't for the life of me understand why Ingram is getting early game carries. Also Luke Wilson looks to me like he could maybe be a serviceable TE3 next year.

Shout outs to JK, Gus, Fort, and Wolfe.
 
Each time we lose Bwill we get into trouble, because we can't stop the run as we want to (he was out the two losses we had last year I think). Having him and Calais back today (even if Wolf is playing on fire) was a relief and we can build on that for the last 4 games. They stopped Seke 3 times on the goal line and that is a sign of good things to come.
I'm not worried about Lamar's athletism following covid nor is desire to win, but his mechanics are worrisome. Might be sophomore slump stuff showing up on is third year but we know from last year that he can routinely make the throws that he routinely misses this year. I know that scheme, play calling and defenses adjustments this year are the main reasons we underachieve, but I can't help feeling that Lamar's touch on passes is off (Brown's touchdown is proof that he "has it", but the miss on Boykin is a more representative sample of what Lamar is doing this year). Hope he'll get his touch back in time.

Absolutely to all of this. I think the leaning on the pass game as we have done at times and the horrid pass pro we’ve seen at times has left Lamar rattled and he was very poised last year but this year he just hasn’t been. The run game just hasn’t been the same this year and it’s affecting the pass game because Lamar is just fucking up mechanically the more we ask him to carry us on his arm

Felt like the defense gave up at least 25 and they should have if Zurlein doesn't miss his kicks.

They seemed particular biased tonight. I know Aikman did call out the Cowboys defense numerous times, but man were they rough tonight. Thought it was crazy how much they were calling for the flag to be picked up when Luke Wilson was basically assaulted by 2 guys. It was only uncatchable because he was tackled before even getting a chance to jump. Throw wasn’t good but as clear of a PI as can be.

aikman really shouldn’t be given cowboys games to do because he becomes insufferable when calling cowboys games

it’s not like romo who’s obviously stoked on the few occasions he gets the cowboys but his excitement and knowledge about football and every play is contagious

aikman forgets himself when the cowboys play

you could tell from so many of his comments about Lamar etc that he didn’t do much research or tape watching of the ravens before this game

Even when he’s critical it’s all about the cowboys and how can they fix this awful defence etc etc

it’s like the preseason commentators when you get the home team broadcast and they only talk about the random 3rd stringer from their team and forget to mention the other team that’s playing

BWill played against the Chiefs in 2019, but then the Chiefs didn't really win the game on the ground (whereas the Browns put the game away with the long Chubb rush).

As far as Campbell's return, I'd pump the breaks on that. He played very sparingly (I charted him with only 23 snaps). He was not involved in the goal line stop at all (Ngakoue, Williams, Wolfe, and Ward on all 4 snaps). He's clearly not 100%.

A reminder that Lamar did not practice from the Friday/Saturday prior to the Titans game (Nov 20/21) until Dec 7. His worst performance of the season (excluding the debacle against PIT) came against CIN when he missed practice due to injury (imo some combination of injury and lack of practice led to poor on-field results). His mechanics have certainly been bad even with practice, but the time off didn't help (and I expect the COVID offseason really messed him up). If he comes back in 2021 with bad mechanics, that's when I'd really start to worry (I'd hope the Ravens are prepared for anything this offseason, even if COVID fucks up the offseason schedule again).
 
I’m concerned with ngakoues lack of pressure, and I am very much chalking it up to his narrow alignment.

why do the ravens hate letting players do what they do well?
