I mean that's fine, but the "from what I've seen" is a combination of like a week of padded practices and OTAs where you don't hit anybody. I would be waiting almost a full year for that assessment. For all I know, not only was he Ricard insurance, but he also may have been Boyle insurance, who doesn't seem particularly likely to be making a camp presence this year and may very well not be ready for week 1.
And its also possible they thought up all of this and then realized he's just not that good. Certainly happens pretty much every year also.
I didn't think of him being used as a Boyle replacement, I guess it could make sense. I actually have only watched a little bit of Michigan film with him after he was drafted and I genuinely have no idea what they are doing with him in camp right now (other than seeing like 5 seconds of him doing TE blocking drills on Snapchat).
