who here was the one who didn’t like Oweh and gregory rousseau? Wonder if that person had a change of heart
I never observed oweh because i never do with pass rushers unless theyre donald like.. however, i dnt like the 0 sacks and still dnt.. he gonna have to show me that he can ball..

i mean i didnt have him ranked on my board because i never came across him and never watched him
that obviously made me go "eh?" on draft day

but he showed a ton of dynamic traits with tons of athleticism with some nice instincts that say day 2 pick to me
like i like his tape and traits a lot more than some corners that went ahead of him and after him

i guess we'll see but i really like what i saw of him on the film we could find after our initial "wtf?" when we drafted him

I strongly agree with your take on Cleveland as the one I am most scared of. Obviously I didn’t go nearly as far into the process as you did - but Cleveland is 6’6 and an sec mountain of a linemen. At first I thought fuck yea- then I thought why is he this late when so many stupid teams routinely just draft players over massive measurements? (Not to mention he has decent film and athleticism )

Although limited, he looks unplayable at gaurd rn. Obviously he has long to go and we have faith but everyone thinks he’s going to be a day 1 beast and I just can not see that happening. I’m scared he’s going to be a revolving door against nimble dts or blitzing lbs. honestly really happy he gets practice against mad and queen. Those are exactly the guys who scare me vs Cleveland

On another note- all these damn Ben’s on the offense is too confusing for the forums—
Not to mention Cleveland is conveniently our biggest concern this year. We really gotta type out BEN CLEVELAND OFFENSIVE GAURD. Damn.

God damn it I’m hammered drunk right now but when I said Cleveland is our biggest concern this year I meant the shitty football team in Ohio. See what I mean??

I don’t see that at all. You do know, against top SEC competition, he only gave up three or four pressures and no (0) sacks/QB hits, right? Everybody acts like he’s slow but he runs a 4.85. And everybody worries about his pass blocking, and conveniently forget about how many sacks he gave up against top SEC competition on over 1,200 snaps… 0

This may be a little dramatic, I think Ben powers is gonna squeak by Cleveland for the starting job because Cleveland has a clear weakness he needs to improve, but it’s also very hard to make this judgement without pads, Cleveland is a live action kinda player, he’s as powerful as anyone out there and he isn’t able to be himself in padless 2 hand touch ball.

he’s used to being able to overset and still win on length and strength alone, I believe he can be coached to be more patient and use his feet more.

Kevin Zietler came off the field early with an athletic trainer, for whatever that’s worth

Some updates from the morning. Zeitler left with a foot injury but it’s not expected to be much of anything https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.si...ning-camp-notebook-day-6-pads-on-intensity-up
  • Rookie guard Ben Cleveland had his best day of practice as he competes for a starting job. Cleveland did well blocking fellow rookie Odafe Oweh and knocked safety Antony Levine back on another drill. Cleveland, selected by the Ravens in the third round (94th overall) of the 2021 NFL Draft, has impressive size — 6-foot-6, 343-pounds — and comes from a solid college program at Georgia.
  • Rookie wide receiver Rashod Bateman continues to flash and he made some impressive catches throughout the practice. He is in line for a starting job.

Thanks

Perhaps this will help quieten some worries. From Filmstudy:
“Ben Cleveland was a man among boys at 1st @Ravens padded practice:

1. Knocked down OLB 54
2. Good push on NT 71 x2
3. pushed OLB 90 wide of play
4. Scanned left effectively from NT double to help LT
5. Good push on DT 94

He won't play with the 2s much longer.

Well we could b

That's good. After seeing Colts Guard Quenton Nelson have a foot injury similar to Wentz, I thought it might have been similar for Zeitler.

Seems like today across the league is pretty hectic.

That would absolutely suck. Not just for us, but for Zeitler too. He seems like a good dude.

Same man, that stadium practice had me stunned, he was the single most impressive player on the entire field, he played at a different speed than everyone else. Like there’s fast, there’s game speed fast, then there’s dudes that play at a different speed, and those are guys that are just faster, quicker, more agile, more decisive, better vision, than anyone on the field with them, guys like Lamar, Oweh looks like he could be like that. He is just gonna be the fastest person between the hashes almost every snap and he’s a freaking rush OLB and is more than adequately sized and plays strong as shit as well, sure he’s far from developed when it comes to taking on blockers in the pass rush, he’s got a shitload of work to do there, but he’s got a football mind, he flows well and he’s decisive yet he’s also patient. I have been really concerned that Oweh would bust, but man what I saw in that practice was beyond encouraging. At worst I think he’s gonna have a lot of TFLs, I love how he moves in space and like him a lot more as a OLB than a DE, and I think that sounds incredible for winks defense

with his athleticism and what we're seeing with his processing speed means that his floor's probably actually fairly high

im super impressed with him - im trying not to get over-hyped just because his best reps were vs the 2s

Love this take, I agree his floor is very high because he can do things many LBs can’t already. His motor, his speed, his overall athleticism, ability to play pursuit and set the edge, those are very sought after. The fact his processing speed is already pretty good before he even gets more refined says he has a chance to be elite in that category. True he was against 2s. However I will say that sometimes you just see it, feel it, from a player no matter who he’s playing against
