really comforting that he seems to have done really well today once the pads have gone on - still not sure about him in pass pro especially when facing quicker guys who challenge him laterally (madubuike is clearly the guy on the ravens DL he's struggled with most for that reason) - but there's no doubt it sounds like he went hunting in the running game today by all reports

work to do by cleveland and based on the stadium practices there's a lot of work to do in the passing game but padded practices are gonna be far more important in the accounting of him than other practices and he's got time before we get to the start of the season to improve

i wonder if part of it is that he's just not up to speed yet with the vets etc. so it's possible his stamina and fitness and speed will improve

it's not about the numbers though - it's about where the tape shows he's vulnerable and his lateral mobility is his biggest weakness - im not worrying about his pass blocking because he's tall, im worrying about it because i see vulnerabilities on his tape - some balance and leaning issues in his pass sets, some reaching and not keeping his feet under him allowed guys to challenge his edges which he was able to get away with because of his length and strength

and it's true those traits will help him in the pros but guys will challenge his weaknesses more

i would say that's a big thing for him - keeping his feet under him and balanced and if he can then we might see him win the starting competition
right now i think tyre's got the leg up for the job and it'll be down to cleveland to beat him out

doesnt look like powers is in the competition right now but we've had guys come out of nowhere to win OL jobs before

I get what you’re saying. I’m much more concerned with tackles myself. If Stanley can’t go and Andre freaking Smith is our LT… :puke:

he just looks different going through drills - you can definitely see it

No no I agree he was a beast in college I wasn't referring to that tape I was referring to the videos posted by the practice from Edgar sorry for that miscommunication. Yes he was definitely a college dominator but against Mad he was getting run around. That is what I was referring too. I don't know much about Georgia's scheme or other players to say much- but if you aren't giving up a sack on 1200 plays thats massively impressive regardless.

Starting to think Mad U can push just about anyone around now. The guy is a rockstar and he’s becoming much more towards the Dio level and less on the Billy Corgan or Winger level

I was sitting front row on the dobbins hype train- and while I still am now all the analysts are too so it's not fun. Mad is gonna be so good I am going to learn how to spell his name soon.

Damn I thought powers was the leader so far, hard to gauge really since phillips is playing a lot of OT

I like Jenkins as a guard, I was cool with Oweh at the time, but it was more of an indifferent thing, like “eh I get it but damn I hope he develops” and when it comes to first round picks I’m rarely indifferent lol.

I mean he was our 2nd pick at 31, and we didn’t have a pick in the second round… when you look at Oweh as our second rounder, he looks damn good
