I don't think it really matters as I was expecting a similar deal whether it happened before or after Allen.

I mean realistically... does a Jimmy Smith injury worry you at this point? He's probably the 4th best Corner on this team when everybody is healthy, and I don't know if he's that much better than like Averett at this point.
I suggested shortly after the draft that, given we drafted a couple DB's and how we have guys like Marshall and Averett who we clearly like, it wasn't totally inconceivable that Jimmy may not make the team. I think he ultimately would, but I don't think he had a guaranteed roster spot.

Im not sure how his contract breaks down, but 6-year extension is an odd number. 4 years been the typical number. My guess is those extra years makes it easier for the team to maneuver and play with the salary cap.

I wonder what the structure is going to look like. Still an insane figure for one really good year and two mediocre ones.
of course. Spread the signing bonus over a longer period, plus it's not going to be evenly spread.

Marshall not good at all.. him and wade by far the worst cbs on roster. Jimmy played aj brown much better than hump did. If it came down to it, we likely need jimmy for that titans matchup now that thwy have julio
I don't think Jimmy is at any risk. Harris, Dorsey, Westry, and Marshall all on the outside looking in but also doubt that any of them would provide more value than Jimmy.

I believe Jimmy will be put on temporary IR and Westry will be brought into the 53 man roster. He is too long, sticky and rangy to risk putting him on the PS to start off. He is a perfect foil to TEs in coverage. 6'4" corner who plays outside well? Come on!

Id like to wait until after this season to pay Lamar no matter what tbh- were going to have to pay him probably at least 45/ yr anyway so might as well do it after he wins a Super Bowl...
