2nd beat guy to suggest that ben cleveland is the probably starter at LG

that seems like a major shift from a week or so ago when he was playing 2nd team reps and getting chewed out by Joe D

I feel like we should be 6-1 heading into the BYE with the Chiefs the only loss. Coming out of the bye we play Minnesota, Miami and Chicago before the schedule really gets more intense.

So if we can be 9-1 or 8-2 heading into the more intense schedule we will be set.

so it would seem - and if that's a commonality they've identified as being key to their draft picks im all for it...

we're definitely seeing it with bateman, oweh and hayes and it sounds like it's cleveland as well

IR rules have changed this year for whatever it’s worth. Only have to be on for 3 weeks.

i was assuming that even if he's returning in september he wont be active straight away because he'll need to get some practices under his belt
 
Bateman going to IR is the scenario where you can keep someone else around. Probably looking at a guy like Levine or another vested vet being a “surprise” cut only to end up re-signing whenever Bateman goes to IR.

1) Bateman has never had injury issues before. Who knows, the constant muscle spasms/tightness may have been due to his muscle about to give out which it ended up doing, thankfully early in the training camp; 2) Perriman hasn’t had major issues with injuries since rookie year. His problem isn’t with durability, it’s with talent

Understand, but if he's expected to return in September, then it means he would play in one of the first 3 weeks.

If Harbaugh said October, then IR makes sense.
 
I am wondering if all that muscle tightness Bateman was facing is due to whatever muscle finally gave out. If so, him being injured so early in camp is a blessing in disguise and possibly going to solve his muscle tightness as well

it would mean that he definitely wouldnt be able to play until the broncos game - i think if there's a chance that he's able to go against the lions that you just carry him on the inactives for those first few weeks especially if you're already carrying 6 WRs anyway (which is highly likely)

I mean its possible. The two issues I have with that is...
1. We will know more about his timeline by the time they have to make that decision. But if he's healthy by, say, September 15th, why put him on IR to make him sit another 2+ weeks? Like I guess you could make the case about getting him more practice time, but I'm not putting a key player on IR for conservativism.
2. If they did that, are they just gonna cut Levine in Week 4 when he returns? I doubt it. Honestly, if they're cutting Levine, they'll almost certainly do it to give him a chance to play elsewhere. I seriously doubt the Ravens are going to keep Levine on for 3 weeks and then dump him midseason. There's other less valued vets or early year players they'd do that to, but not Levine I don't think.

Again this will all shake out by like early September when final roster decisions are made. They'll have basically 3 weeks of surgery/recovery to figure out what his timeline is, and go from there.
 


which would make sense - if it is this then i dont see him getting i/red - best case is he's getting back to limited training and practicing around week 1/2 and worst case would put him back at practice after week 3
