IR rules have changed this year for whatever it’s worth. Only have to be on for 3 weeks.

Bateman going to IR is the scenario where you can keep someone else around. Probably looking at a guy like Levine or another vested vet being a “surprise” cut only to end up re-signing whenever Bateman goes to IR.
