The 2021 Offseason Thread

The way these preseason injuries are going, everything revolves are feet or legs. We need to immediately place Lamar in Bubble wrap immediately.

Somewhat but not completely related... could be a fun way to build depth, too. Stephens will be playing S and SCB. Warrior would be CB and S. Ar'Darius if he makes it would be S and SCB. Jimmy got some run at S last year.

and ive noticed that averett's getting slot snaps in the preseason too

apparently playing more in camp than he is in preseason - i dont understand why that would be the case unless they're trying to hide him and put him on the PS but idk - weird that he's not getting more run at tackle in the preseason

Interesting. I know they tried that with someone several years back... not letting them play so they don't get tape out there. Can't remember who.

Just seems weird that they'd have a T they like and try to hide him considering we have shit T depth and there's a clear job opening. If you like him that much that you're willing to not let him play, it shouldn't be hard to roster him. And that's why you have to think it's more than just hiding him.

I remember that but also can't remember who it was

Perfectly explained. If they think that highly of him then just keep him especially with literally every other team looking for capable OTs.
Wild guess:
Julian Wilson CB or wasn't it also a tackle?

Ben Cleveland apparently hurt again.

Stupid ass musclebound headbusting mf… fix your diet, do some yoga, develop some tactic, get in football shape and we’ll see ya next season.

Looks like Powers is in the lead for the LG job. Wonder who is the odd man out… or if they just keep all 10 for now.

Powers was decent at RG between Melari and Fluker. On paper you'd think him moving back to his college position of LG and being between Stanley and Bozeman would be an upgrade. However, he's really not looked that good right?

he looked awful in preseason 1, looked much improved preseason 2 - i still think tyre phillips is the lead horse in the race

He seems like an “is what he is” kind of guy. Not sure there’s much room for improvement but he’s likely to give you solid play when he’s on. But he’s also inconsistent so you aren’t always going to get that solid play. Think he helped stabilize the position last year but one would think that with all of the other options we have, it shouldn’t be too difficult to find someone better and more consistent.
