The Good, the Bad, and the Dolphins: Week 8 Edition

This is the first game I've caught with Romo commentating and I was seriously impressed. Great analysis and the dude is hilarious. He also has great chemistry with Nantz who is probably ecstatic to be rid of Simms finally.

I think my favorite thing that Romo said was when he was trying to calculate Collins' YPC and said something like, "I'm no expert at math, but that should be about a 6 yard average.......Actually, I'm an expert at math, but I was trying to make it sound good...." lol
I really thought he would struggle at first but honestly my favorite commentator by far now. He should've been doing this his entire life. He was a fantastic fit.

I like that Romo is fair in his assessment. Gave credit to our team when we played well. Instead of the usual belittling of us and basically saying we are lucky when we play well.

I loved his total excitement when Mosley caught that pick, "HES GONNA SCOOOORE JIM!" When he was like 3 steps into his return lmao.

He really loves doing this, dudes just having fun in the booth. He's gonna be a SNF commentator within a few years, bet on it.

Isn't he the one that said something about a velociraptor??? He KILLED me. Romo is seriously the greatest commentator ever.

Jimmy is a stud no doubt. Looked like he was running awkwardly still so I feel like that achilles is still somewhat bothering him. I still think he is a top 5 corner in this league just because of how this team looks when he isn't there because of injury. I think Humphrey is the second coming of Smith as well. Dominant corners for years to come.
He was either showboating or trying to run off a few more seconds which doesn't make sense lol, so I'll call it showboating. He changed direction at the 10 yard line and started running goofy as shit, he ran perfectly normal before he began showboating

They should just space out each game a few hours apart from each other so he can commentate all of them.

i think he was teasing the shit out of the guy chasing him - he was watching the screen in the stadium and juking him without looking behind him

As dirty as the Dolphins are, was there anyone else hoping for some trick play in garbage time to rub it in the Dolphin's faces?

Romo literally doesn this every time lol. He the best and its not even close

Can we talk about how romo is the GOAT commentator? He is the shit, his excitement is seriously refreshing, and he predicts plays like it's nothing. Dude was born for this shit lol.

Also, did anyone realize jimmy was THAT fast? That was Kenny stills and he was off to the races and even had time to showboat. Dude shows time and time again that when he's healthy he's about as good as it gets, healthy jimmy is elite and it's not a question, qbs don't even fucking think about targeting him, and when they do he makes them pay. I would love to see what he would've been had he never had an injury bug, he'd be hailed as the best cb in the league
i same shyt lol. He looked like a 4.4 when be broke on that ball.

Ryan Jensen deserves the game ball. Without hesitation he takes up for a teammate and sticks Alonsos head in the ground.

I notice however that not one Raven stuck up for him as two dolphins are on top of him and a third was waiting for his chance to get some. This is embarrassing.

Three dolphins willing to fight and defend Alonso while none save Jensen stuck up for Flacco. And when he did, he was left to be wailed on and fend for himself. No one even pulled them off of him.

I was impressed that so many fans came out for a preseason game.
Really an awful product on the field. Dolphins were unwatchable. Pummeled by another team a far cry from being considered even mediocre.

Commentators joking about chain movers, falling asleep from boredom, "who could blame them?...."(for falling asleep) joked one commentator.
Another bemoaned a particularly drawn out stretch between snaps by stating over the air that, "he wants to go home".

This may as well have been a preseason game. Dolphins were certainly in mode.

Harbaugh celebrating with Marty as if we'd beaten the Patriots and were moving on the super bowl.

Sorry. Pretty uninspiring to me. And seeing Flacco essentially without his whereabouts really puts a damper on it.
So basically our offense full of pussi3s? I agree

Our offense is full of people who don't want to eat a dumb penalty. You want them to act like the Dolohins...guess Suh is certainly suspended and KA might join him. Ya that toughness is so great when it costs you both yards and a player

you wont get a penatly for pulling players away. Regardless, you dont let players gang up on your teammates.

The problem with the Alonso hit is that it was just reckless. It's hard to say that it was flagrant when is seems like that might just be how Alonso tackles (same "low lunge" as the play where Boyle hurdled him). Completely flies in the face of the "see what you tackle" teachings that every football coach that I've ever seen or played for constantly preaches. They're definitely the kind hits that should be eliminated from the game for the safety of the tackler and the tacklee. That being said, if that hit was to Brady, Goodell would have personally executed Alonso in the parking lot.

Overall, the game was very impressive. The defense was more creative than they had been with the blitzing schemes. They played a very aggressive game that mainly focused on taking away the short game- possibly would not have had as good of a showing against Cutler, who would have been more aggressive deep (but with all the risks that go with that). The defense took over the game and that was good to see.

The offense was able to run effectively against a good front, even with Mallett at QB. Marty did a good job this week of going after the Dolphins' defensive weaknesses, but still was helped by playing with a lead and being able to just keep the clock running. That Flacco-Maclin TD was the most beautiful throw Flacco has made all season. Definitely hoping that he is back soon.

They're never going to let Alex Collins get a touchdown.

Great: Man can we sign Collins to a long-term contract now? Jensen and Hurst the fuckin bully squad moving bodies. Great play by Cj and Jimmy.
The bad: Stop giving Buck Allen the same amount of carries, and give it to Collins at the goal line.
The odd but funny: Chris Moore has 4 career tds, and only one was receiving. Two were blocked punts for TD's, and the other one was a fumble recovered for a TD. He also had the fumble recovery last week from joe in the two-minute drill. That is called play making. Or luck.
Awful: Kiko and his damn post game press conference where he blamed Flacco for not getting down fast enough.
Seriously Kiko is going to blame a qb for not trying to get down fast enough, on 3rd down trying fir a first. He gave himself up and he had time to react.

sorry but you are wrong. was stunned the flags didn't fly on he coverages but those refs let it go even with as chippy as that game was. there were only 40 yards penalties per team.

predicted this win and the win over the raiders. but that guy is gonna hurt us when the refs disallow his grabbing. what a low caliber first rounder.

Brandon browner is the guy, thank you. He's not as good as browner but twice as grabby.
He’s not wrong, it’s his opinion.

LMAO..
You know me, I aint a deluded one. You're just a hater. humphrey is really good. He's physical and he's good at it. I've watched and graded every single one of his snaps and he did a great job.
I knew you’d come around. You watched more tape after the draft and now you see him in the games. He’s going to be damn good. I’m not saying he won’t commit penalties. My god they all do, but for the most part he is going to be a very good 1 or 1a cb.
