Mock Central

Draftwire did a 7 round mock. It had the Ravens going:
1: Guice, RB (passing on Moore, Vea, and McGlinchey)
2: Mark Andrews, TE (Passing on James Washington
3: Ragnow, G/C (passing on Pettis, Cain, and Thomas)
4: Jeff Holland, Edge (passing on Auden Tate, and DeaSean Hamilton)
5: Korey Robertson WR
6: Kurt Benkert, QB
6: Christain Campbell, CB
7: Brent Toth, OT

Would not be particularly happy with this draft.
They are DUI

Swap noname holland for Tate and thisis a goddamn Stellar draft whatchu mean

Idk. Im opposite what the consensus is for some reason. I have major questions about Darnold and i think Rosen is a bit of a smart ass, i just dont like him personally. He seems entitled and arrogant, just rubs me the wrong way for some reason. Going back to Darnold, I feel like a lot of the same excuses being made for Darnold for struggling this past year can also be made for Allen these past 2 years. Im not sure Darnold has the charisma to lead a team which is what everyone raves about...smh. Hes honestly probably more boring to listen to than Flacco (Joe has his moments at least, especially recently).
Call me crazy but I think Allen is a cant miss prospect. Hes got the attitude and work ethic you look for in an NFL QB, im not sure why but i see something special with Allen just like i saw it with Desean Watson. They just make their teams better no matter who is on the team. I think Allen was honestly on the worst team in that conference and the only reason they won was because of him.

Same can be said for Lamar Jackson. He really carried that Louisville team and doesnt have many NFL caliber players to work with. Darnold, Mayfeild, and somewhat Rosen(great recruits poor coaching at UCLA) always had the best recruits in the country. If you put an NFL offense in front of Lamar Jackson and a play book that fits to his strengths he will thrive.

And when you watch the tape he DOES NOT scramble to run. His eyes are always down feild and most of the time when its pass he passes. A lot of his big runs come from designed runs, he stayed true to the system set in place for him at Lousiville.
Athletic qbs with shaky accuracy and decision making can win in college, in fact dominate, all
On their own.

I like Jackson, don't lik Allen, but I wouldn't bet my job on Jackson. They have shortcomings and you can't use weak WRs as an excuse for panicked throws, weak mechanics, and inability to read and dissect

You can blame the oline for a lot though. And both their olines sucked

Matt miller has us taking Calvin Ridley - Derwin James and mike mcglinchey were both also still on the board - the closer we get to the draft, the more confident I am that a top 10 player on our board is gonna fall to us

I just did my own mock almost as a quick double check and ended up with both Ridley and mcglinchey available at 16 too - and I’m starting to get the feeling that Ridley is gonna go much earlier than expected by analysts at the moment but that’s gonna push mcglinchey right into our lap - we’re gonna get someone really good I think

I saw that mock. Call me crazy, but I would rate James higher than ridley or mcglinchey and would be kind of bummed if we pass him up for one of those two. Especially since the WR pool is so deep in rounds 2-3 and the safety gap between James / Fitzpatrick to the be next tier is wide.

Its not crazy. James is a top 5 player in this draft! I still think he falls due to the love affair with QBs but optimistic its to 16...if it is then as happy as I would be with Ridley or McGlinchey I would be livid if we passed on James...in fact Ozzie and co should just walk if this happened

Come on now, James is a very good player but he isn't even the best DB in this draft.

Fair comment guys, being honest I said it and ive already named more then 5 I have above haha!

Thing is Barkley, Chubb, Nelson etc we already know are lock top 10 and so forth.

James is that guy that could slide, QB run, these players above, Edmunds and Smith fitting needs like a glove for teams ahead of us...you never know

Ya everytime i do a mock i seem to have Mcglinchey and Ridley fall, possibly even Roquan Smith. Just depends if Payne and Vita Vea go in the top 15 which they should

I think James might go to SF. John Lynch might fall in love with his play style and they get todays version of Ronnie Lott

i didnt have a single dt go ahead of the pick

i had:

Sam Darnold
Bradley Chubb
Josh Allen
Josh Rosen
Baker Mayfield
Saquon Barkley
Minkah Fitzpatrick
Quenton Nelson
Tremaine Edmunds
Denzel Ward
Roquan Smith
Connor Williams
Derrius Guice
Derwin James
Josh Jackson

so in that 15 i didnt have either defensive tackle go, i didnt have lamar jackson go (which i seriously think could happen too), i didnt have a single wr go and i didnt have any of the media hype guys like davenport go either

i think its perfectly reasonable to expect at this point that a mcglinchey or a ridley (or someone of that ilk) to fall within reach of the ravens - especially if these defensive tackles go early

Athletically hes the most gifted id say. Minkah has better instincts and football IQ which is why id put him at FS
Oh he’s definitely the most gifted. If he improves his deep coverage he will be the best S in the class. I’d probably take him over Minkah.

Oh see i dont have Josh Jackson going that high, i like Oliver better and i think Jackson hurt his stock at the combine. Idk where Guice goes and i dont see Williams going top q5

Why does everyone hate on Lamar Jackson so much? Yet Baker Mayfeild gets all this hype about going top 10???? Makes no sense to me
Imo, I like both players. Lamar Jackson is an athletic freak that currently has some accuracy issues. Those accuracy issues are absolutely fixable though. He's got some tremendous traits and if his talent is honed, he will be a very good QB for a very long time. That is if he isn't injured along the way.

Ya his frame and running prowess are what worry me. Vick made it work but Lamar has to be smart with taking hits
