Well, I'll play the devil's advocate on this one.
For starters, There is every indication we are thinking quarterback early in this draft.
Rudolph is better than he's being given credit for....he is certainly developmental and I probably grade him out as no higher than mid-late 2nd round but....he is a quarterback and someone is taking him in the first.
I'd say Rudolph's perceived lack of arm strength is overblown and is actually an issue of suspect mechanics and a poor base in every instance I have seen. The issue is whether or not it is correctable. I'm not sure.
I'd say he has very good pocket awareness and really good movement in the pocket to go along with it. He would sit for at least a year here. If we did take him and I still don't believe we will, I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss.....now, if we don't get Kirk and Thomas in rounds two/three or something comparable and pass on a Ridley or someone of that ilk in round one....I'll probably be pretty upset about a developmental qb in round one.
