Mock Central

I would love that 2nd and 3rd round. But Rudolph is a horrible first round pick. Replace him with an o-lineman and that draft is great.

if that 1st pick was isaiah wynn or mike mcglinchey or lamar jackson or DJ Moore or Will Hernandez - like that 2nd and 3rd round are so good that we could get away with a reach or a trade down in the 1st lol and still come away with a complete offensive overhaul

its so stupid - its just like the ravens have become buzzy as a qb destination so now everyone just throws the best remaining qb at our 1st round pick which is insane as a strategy
Well, I'll play the devil's advocate on this one.
For starters, There is every indication we are thinking quarterback early in this draft.

Rudolph is better than he's being given credit for....he is certainly developmental and I probably grade him out as no higher than mid-late 2nd round but....he is a quarterback and someone is taking him in the first.

I'd say Rudolph's perceived lack of arm strength is overblown and is actually an issue of suspect mechanics and a poor base in every instance I have seen. The issue is whether or not it is correctable. I'm not sure.

I'd say he has very good pocket awareness and really good movement in the pocket to go along with it. He would sit for at least a year here. If we did take him and I still don't believe we will, I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss.....now, if we don't get Kirk and Thomas in rounds two/three or something comparable and pass on a Ridley or someone of that ilk in round one....I'll probably be pretty upset about a developmental qb in round one.

im not saying we wouldnt take rudolph - im saying we wouldnt take rudolph at 16 and that media guys have just decided that because there's buzz about the ravens taking a qb that they will just give us any old qb at 16 which makes no sense - the ravens arent gonna reach for a qb they will evaluate them the same as any other position so they'd have to see rudolph as a top 16 player on their board which i think is entirely insane of an idea

I agree generally. And for what it's worth, the rumors of us taking Rudolph really begin and end, so far as I can tell, with Jason LaCanfora and his track record for the scoop as we all know, is impeccable.

if im honest those rumours are likely JLC realising that qb is on the board for us, seeing all the hype on jackson and thinking he can get buzz by just throwing out another qb who is going to realistically be available at 16

Patriots are really interested im jackson it seems. Theyre gonna do a deal withsome to move up
Jackson is going to be a very good QB. A plus for the Patriots is he plays in the Erhardt Perkins offensive scheme. Same scheme they have used in New England since forever.

Pats have 2 first round and 2 second round picks I think. As much as I hate the pats, I wouldn’t mind trading out of the 16 if they really want Lamar

i mean if the compensation is the 23rd pick and either of the 2nds that would be incredible for us

I'd rather take both their 1sts. I mean since they really like Jackson.

i just meant that of those 4 picks id be fine just taking 2 of them as long as the 23rd is involved but obviously would prefer the 2 1sts or 1 of the 1sts and the 2 2nds etc.

i was only saying that for me the 1st and the 2nd would be decent enough justification for me for us to move back

if im honest though i think the only way we see them trade up with us is if they dont fancy trading ahead of the cardinals at 15 and lamar jackson makes it to our pick - this trade would be an on the clock move (which might hopefully inflate the price) but also makes it less likely to happen

If you follow the nfl draft point value chart, I believe the 16 slot is worth 1000pts.

Pats picks are 23(760pts) , 31(600) , 43(470) , and 63(276). This is going off the walterfootball point chart.

With that, I would be fine with either the 23+63 or 31+43 picks for the 16.

at the same time we could still get the 23rd and 31st pick for it.

CBS sports has us drafting;
Mason Rudolph
Christian Kirk
Ian Thomas
I know many really value Mayock's opinion - and I find it interesting that he has Kirk as the #2 WR in this draft. That, along with the value placed on the WR position makes it hard to imagine he'll be there for us in the 2nd round. Also interesting that he has D.J. Moore as the #5 WR in the draft. While most seem to project Ridley as the #1, who comes after at that position seems to be all over the map.

That said, whether it is Kirk or someone else, Mayock's view is that the Ravens will wait until the 2nd because there should be someone in that grouping that will be a solid pickup at that point. "Pass-catchers figure to be at the core of the Ravens' draft, and if they don't go for one in the first round, there are a glut of possibilities could await Baltimore from Rounds 2-4"

That would be robbery. Do they like him that much? Let’s hope
I don't consider it robbery. If you're going up for a quarterback it's the going rate. We need a one. It could be next year but I'm either getting a one or both of their two's this year.
