from what ive seen of kirk (and i havent watched all the tape yet so i dont have a fully-actualised grade yet) but he's likely not gonna be in the top 16 players in the draft

also sutton hadnt been picked yet either

if im honest i just dont foresee kirk being in the top 16 players on the board - now i could certainly see a trade back towards the end of the first round or even out of the first round entirely and pick him up there - and i think depending on the players on the board when we pick he would be a good option

This year because of the talent at the top of the draft not being all that, and there being a lot of good day two talent, I could see us trading our of the first and picking up an 2nd and 3rd round pick. This would be ideal.

If Nelson or Sutton isn't there, I'd try to trade down into the twenties for Kirk or Price. Maybe pick up another 2nd rounder in the process.

Yes it would and I’ve seen that but I doubt that happens.

so im gonna spitball off the top of my head here to see what happens...

4 qbs in the top 15 (rosen, darnold, allen, mayfield)
2 rbs in the top 15 (barkley, guice)
2 ILBs in the top 15 (evans and smith)
1 OT in the top 15 (williams)
3 Edge in the top 15 (key, landry and chubb)
1 DL in the top 15 (Wilkins)
1 DB in the top 15 (Jackson)

so that's 14 (and some of those guys will not go in the top 15) but this is without including my 4 favourite guys who im sure will also all be in this range...

but i guess at this point that this sort of scenario is the pathway to getting one of ridley, nelson, mcglinchey or fitzpatrick unlikely as it is

im hoping we go after roqoun or a pass rusher! only pass rushers in FA are aldon and lawerence. Laweremce will most likely get resigned and i doubt we take a chance on aldon smith( wish we would).

It takes 2 to trade. And usually, the value isn’t good enough to trade back. Especially at 16. Who would teams want to trade up to get at that point? Just hoping sutton or Nelson falls in range for us to realistically trade up if anything.

a team could want to come up and grab lamar jackson or something if they've fallen in love idk - we're a long way out - it also seems like there's a drop off in talent around 16 so a team could well feel like 16 is a good place to draft up to

I think last year we tried to do both. Trade up for lattimore. And then when it was our pick. Trade back. But we didn’t offer too much and the offer to trade back wasn’t enough. So I rather look at mock drafts as who can we get at 16 if we stay put. Cause trading up and back is more unlikely.

that's normally how i mock as well just because trades are so crazy and difficult to predict
