well, if we don't get into the playoffs its time to clean da house.
even if we get in we can't make any serious noise but after such a long playoff drought it would be nice to taste it again

9ers, Rams and Jags as the closure.
I think the Titans could beat the 9ers and the Rams, even if the Jags sit the key players I don't know if the Titans could win that one.
I don't want to face Jacksonville in the post season. Anyone else I would feel better about.

With the way how both Cali teams are playing, it's VERY possible that the Titans could lose out which angers me because we had the chance to win that game too.
espn is incorrect i think - we are currently the 6th seed still due to a better common games record vs the bills - either way if we go 9-7 there is almost no way we can lose a tiebreaker to the bills - and if we go 10-6 they legitimately cant knock us out of the playoffs no matter what they do
at this point we'd need the titans to win out and the jags to have an unexpected loss or we'd need to steal the 5th seed which would need the titans to basically lose out (i wouldnt put it past them... rams are a much better team, the jags are a much better team and the niners with jimmy g under center might cause them trouble too)
but realistically the way we dont face the jags in the playoffs is to not make the playoffs...

Buffalo is ahead because we're under three-way tiebreakers, with LA and BUF. Those tiebreakers are slightly different. Shoutout to those who know what the hell "strength of victory" is.
if im honest i think the titans beating the rams is incredibly far-fetched and they should struggle even against the niners now that they have functional qb play insan francisco
really? i thought we had the tiebreakers over both the chargers and the bills (maybe only in a 2-way tie) - the playoff picture "as it stands" isnt really a great indicator anyway because the chargers and chiefs have to play each other which means the chargers either go a game up in their division or they go a game down vs the other wildcard contenders (either way they are out of the immediate wild card picture) and if we beat the colts and bengals the bills literally cant beat us for the 6th seed without beating the pats

That's exactly what it is. We're only ahead in a 2-way tie. Three-way tiebreakers are different.
cool cool - my way of thinking about it is that it doesnt really matter right now because once we hit 9-7 its unlikely we end up in more than a 2-way tiebreaker with anyone unless the titans fall off a cliff and if we win all 3 of our games i think we automatically have at least the 6th seed no matter what other teams do...
Buffalo is only ahead right now because we have not yet played the teams that put us ahead. Its rather simple, but when all the games are played the Ravens in almost every scenario will hold the tiebreaker.
The Bills have to beat the Pats which is not going to happen and sweet the Dolphins to even keep pace with the Ravens and even if they do the Ravens still hold the tiebreaker.

If the Jags win out and the Steelers lose a game (which is possible against the Pats) then the Jags become the second seed. So we wouldn't be facing them in the wildcard.

i know we need the chiefs to lose because they currently have the 6th seed but i would rather they beat the chargers this saturday. i do not want to face the red hot chargers. i do not believe we match up well with them especially with brittle jimmy out. miami may have put there all into the pats game so im not sure how much they have left in the tank against the bills and loss to the browns sunday will seal our fate. jmo
unless the titans have a nightmare and we get the 5th seed we wont be playing the AFC West division winner in the playoffs - we will have almost certainly the jags

the jags defense is pretty nasty but they are inexperienced when it comes to the playoffs and bortles can be pretty bad at times. wish maclin and maxx williams would wake up from their comas so our offense would make teams have to think a little more. i just hope we do not lay an egg in cleveland

I think people are overrating the Jaguars really hard. Usually takes a couple postseason runs for a team to do really any damage in the playoffs.
jags are a good outfit but we sleepwalked our way into and through week 3 - im not saying that they wont beat us again but unless we dont get off the bus again this should be a close game - especially with our offence emerging a little bit

Last night might have changed the AFC playoff picture a lot. If the Steelers beat NE, we're likely going to Foxborough for our wild card round, since JAX would most likely take #2 seed in that case.
