Playoff Picture

I love Stanley but I really wanted Ramsey or Bosa those were my two favorites. Bosa on the otherside of Suggs, or Ramsey on the other side of Jimmy Smith....

Man that draft had some top tier talent. We came away with a good player. But there is just something about watching defensive player film over an offensive player.
See the post above. Lol without a franchise LT flacco would be dead by noe

LT is probably the hardest position to draft

well unless you're the ravens..where WR is just a waste of time.

Nearly all of us, I mean i was pounding my desk in anger, when we selected perriman..I did the same with elam. My respect for the FO went down a huge notch when we drafted perriman.

Yeah I can agree I liked the pick. We were in a perfect position that draft to have premier talent fall to us. After us it was hit and miss all the first round for talent.

It would be nice to be like the browns in a sense where we could have 2 picks in the top 10 nearly every year :/

The Chargers are a very interesting team because they're really unlucky that they started out 0-4, because they had it rough at the start of the year. The Chiefs were red-hot when they played them and the Eagles are not a joke. Miami and Denver are blemishes but I'll brush it off considering that they were 3-0 and 4-2 respectively at the start of the year.

Outside of that, at a talent perspective, they're pretty much among the top 5 IMO, not a whole lot of weaknesses with that team and it's showing. They're the type of team I can imagine bouncing us out of the wild card round.
I don’t think the Chargers will take the wild card. They will most likely win the West if they continue playing the way they have been.

I think he meant that we are the 5 seed and the Chargers are the 4 seed and we play in the divisional round. Or us as the 6th seed and them as the 3 seed.

and yet somehow id rather not have those 2 picks in the top 10 lol for some reason...
Yeah, if your picking at one, you have to suck pretty bad
I'll be perfectly honest, after the flacco/harbaugh era ends, in perfectly fine with 2 season of 2-14 football, so we can trade a #1 overall pick for a kings ransom 2 years straight and have like 6 picks in the top 20 and like 4 second round picks over the next 3 years

i kind of feel that way but id also rather not have a couple of years of abject failure especially because (knowing our front office) we wont have a bad roster and will likely just be a head coach and qb away from back in the mix

But we will also be caught up in the cap, so the more high end picks, the better our team in the short and long term. Those 2 down years can take us from a semi talented roster lacking a qb and coach, to a deep and loaded roster with a qb and coach.

that's true but remember when joe leaves most of his cap goes with him, plus the ever-increasing salary cap and the fact that if joe isnt gone in the next couple of years that he'll be gone around the new CBA which will mean even larger salary caps

Running through the playoff scenarios, it is no wonder why the projections have us at 80+% likelihood of getting a WC spot.

The recent nose dive of KC is playing into this nicely. The final 4 games feature the 3-way tie .500 teams in the West taking turns playing each other. The best any of them can reasonably hope for is a 10-6 division winner with a 9-7 WC contender. Every tie-breaker seems to go our way, not matter which of those 3 teams go 9-7.

Then there is Buffalo. They also lose on every tie breaker I can find where they go 9-7. To go 10-6, they need to beat NE in week 16. I'd be more worried about that if it were week 17... but week 16 I think they are still going to be playing for the #1 seed. Oh, and that game is in NE.

Of course, this all assumes we can split at a minimum our final 4 games. A win tonight all but seals it. A loss and we still have margin for error.

I like our chances.

If you base it on how these 3 teams are playing, yes, the Chargers would seem to be the favorite to take the division. However, it can' t be discounted that KC has the easier schedule and that 3 of their final 4 games are at home - including the ones against the Chargers and Raiders.

Ok. I'm going to be very real. We need to win out. I want NO parts of Jacksonville for a WC game. We don't match up well against them and they have the potential to take out one of the top teams.

if we win tonight we remain in the 6th seed but given the games ahead we'd have to be considered in the driving seat for the 5th seed event without winning out
