The Offense Thread

i mean there's definitely 3 going top 10 (if darnold declares) and maybe mayfield also goes but im not sure anyone inside of the top 10 is gonna want mayfield - will have to wait for the final draft order but i could see mayfield going to a team at the bottom of the first who thinks they are close but not happy with the qb play but in all honesty i see him going top of the 2nd and id still likely think of that as a reach

but then again the season isnt even finished yet and we havent even got close to the senior bowl so how can i say where he'll end up on draft boards and it only takes 1 team to love him for him to go
It might just be but i think mayfield is the truth right now

They will trade down
If browns wouldve traded one of their 3 2nds to pats for jimm G they maybe couldve competed next season or season after. that is if they were to get some FA pick ups such as allen robinson. I can also see someone like josh macdaniels heading over to clev this offseason. A chance to turn a terrible org around.. but knowing browns they will probably have tebow as starting qb next season

I’m pretty sure B.B. wanted to trade jimmy g to a team where he stranded a chance and in a different conference. Jmo

If we draft Mayfield with our first pick, maybe we’ll see an Alex Smith (first half of season) type resurgence from Flacco, fighting for his job. If we landed Kubiak or another top OC, even better.

I can do with this scenario except id start baker over flacco lol

What makes it sicker is the fact Wilson is playing behind one of the worst O lines in the league.

But arguably has the best set of weapons to throw to. A big fast athletic TE. A smart chain mover in Baldwin and one of the best at it. Then 2 very explosive WRs that are top10 hardest to cover around the league with ball skills to brag about. Paul Richardson in my opinion is the hardest receiver to cover in the league. 4.2 speed and fluid sudden and explosive in his routes. And makes acrobatic catches look routine. If not detailed by injuries he would be as good and better than Beckham. Lockett is only held back by inconsistent timing by Wilson. If he played with Brady or Bree's his numbers would be staggering. He should be next to uncoverable out of the slot. Joe wouldn't know what to do with ONE of Graham Richardson Lockett. If Richardson is over his injury bug he will be a steal in free agency. A total steal

Flacco gets one more chance with a competent OC and a better set of weapons, but if he’s just absolutely done, he can be the highest paid backup in the league until we can cut him

at this point i feel like flacco is done. 10 yr vet and he dont wanna get any better. His mechanics all fucked up. As a competitor youre suppose to work on those things. Brady been in lg 20 yrs and worked on his throwing motion just last season. Flacco has already said " if we dont have to be here im not here" that tells you everything you need to know in a person. An OC may help the team but flacco will always inconsistent and inaccurate. its time for him to sit his trash ass on the bench lol

I would activate Campanaro over Perriman. At least he can catch a damn ball. Put him in the slot, and with his shiftiness he may be able to break some decent yardage. Perriman has not done squat for us, I am done with him this season. Hopefully, Campanaro can stay healthy and help get us a wildcard spot.

i hear what you are saying, but I really want see him play on Sunday. I saw something in him on that last run to ice the game for us, and those comments he made after the game. Maybe it is me wishful thinking and reading way to much into it, but I have seen what Joe can do when he is fired up and it was the first time all season I saw some kind of a spark. I hate that we don’t have a Boldin or SSS to fully ignite it, like they were so good at doing. Unfortunately, we don’t have a receiver that can put this team on their back like Mason Boldin or SSS could do. At least Torrey had heart. We got no one right now. I think Campanaro could have some heart if we gave him a chance. Then again what do I know?

Yeah, he’s been in a bad place since the knee reconstruction and has never regained the confidence and “gunslinger” attitude he once had. I think you’re right that if he had one or two consistently dependable guys it could spark improvement. I highly doubt he’s “disinterested”as some have said. The comment about “if we don’t have to be here......” was posted completely out of context as Joe was talking in an interview strictly about a day or two they had off during the bye, not in general as some have tried to portray. His poor play isn’t because he doesn’t care, I think it’s been from a lack of confidence in himself since the knee and a lack of confidence in most of his receivers.

I actually like camp and think he can be a great slot guy. If he does have some spark left, its time for him to show it. Even some avg play out of him could get us to a SB next season

I feel like the failure to get Moore and Camp more involved just falls flat on Joe's, Marty's and Harbaugh more then anything. I mean if Maclin and Wallace can only manage 300 yards, then I'm certain that no one else is going to do better.

I think Chris Moore can at least contribute, yeah he's not a starting WR but he's had plays last year where he could've had a big impact if it weren't for drops. I think the issues with his hands put him where he is now. I just can't help but think if he caught those two passes that would have been TDs against Cleveland that he would have a different place in this offense now.

I like Camp a lot but his injuries will continue to prevent him from making an impact. He absolutely deserves to be more involved though.

I don't understand why they don't put camp on the field more on 3rd down in the slot - he's looked good when there in the past and joe has looked comfortable throwing to him so I don't know why he isn't out there more - and I certainly don't understand him being a healthy scratch

Tank. You and cobra ( and a very few others ) are my ray of hope in these boards.
I was ready to quit "Ravens Talk " until post season. The extreme negativity and arrogance was getting old fast.

Thanks for a quality post...
Maybe I won't quit this section.

Maybe we will have a good game tomorrow and there will be more optimism. If we win tomorrow at least we won’t have to hear anyone say we can’t beat a good QB. lol

So it’s extremely negative and arrogant to talk about Flacco’s flaws? The same Flacco that’s a 10 year vet, one of the highest paid players in the league but quite possibly the worst starting QB? We all don’t live on rainbows and ride unicorns to Candy Land. It’s OK to be objective.

JAAM, many Ravens fans have always preferred to wear purple glasses and believe anyone who doesn't isn't a "true fan". Its fine for a 10 year old child to view sports that way but not adults.

People are justified to support their team however they want... I don’t like this idea that wearing purple tinted glasses is a bad thing - for some people fandom is exactly that fandom whereas others like a lot of us here like to dive deeper - there’s a place for discussion and debate but to disparage the way other people support the team and sport when their view doesn’t hurt you is a little demeaning and makes fandom less fun for everyone - politics and society are divided, extreme and intolerant enough - fandom should not be a quantifiable trait - let people enjoy themselves with the ravens (if they can) however they can

If being delusional helps some people "enjoy" themselves, good for them.
