Next Up: vs Browns

You guys need to hurry up and get to acceptance stage of grief, it's nice and warm here.
Seriously. I’ve been so calm during most these games this season because of all these injuries. The wins are just a pleasant surprise.

Acceptance that we will take new hits every week

i dont think ill ever get to that place

maybe at some point ill get to the point where i truly accept that the season's been sunk by injuries too much (but im not there yet)

but i dont think ill ever be able to accept the inevitability of more new injuries every week lol

You’re literally living it lol

This is perfect and I’ll be saying this in character from now on when the times are right lol

It's Skip Bayless but he says a source told him the locker room is ready to turn on Baker because of Odell. I mean again it's Skip but bring on all the drama and distractions possible heading into Sunday Night.
Makes no sense. Baker did nothing to run Odell out of town. That was Odell's own doing. If the locker room is turning on Baker, it's because of his poor on-field performance.

Media criticism of Baker at this point is unwarranted. Due has like 7 injuries that a lot of QBs would have just opted not to post on Sunday with. He's somewhat of a liability to their team, only because he wants to keep playing through it and the coaching staff is too stubborn to sit him until he heals, which may take weeks or months.

Any word of Averett and Jimmy’s availability?
Jimmy didn't practice all week, so highly doubt he suits up. BWill seems on the doubtful side also, considering he got in only limited sessions Wed-Thur before not practicing Friday.

Averett was limited Thurs-Fri so it sounds like he should be available.

My guess from the questionable listing is that Jimmy will be out, BWill will be out, and then I'd say Westry might be on the wrong side of questionable. I think everybody else suits up.
Campbell is a wildcard. Will depend on if he clears protocol in time. Wouldn't think he'd need to practice to play.

I’m really not feeling this game… feels like a potential SNF divisional embarrassment and goddamn I’m not ready for it.

if Calais suits up I will feel ten times better about it, but I just don’t like the matchup here.

that said, if we do wanna pull this off, I think a large dose of power run game is in order, I’m talking Murray up the gut and classic Roman power scheme, not read option, power run. This defense is built to penetrate the backfield on these long developing option plays, and to chase our speed laterally, but it should absolutely become vulnerable to a an actual power run game. If we wanna win I think we need a big game from both Murray and freeman, and in the passing game I’m expecting andrews to be the guy who has to get us going and keep us going. No cute shit, no making Lamar be Superman, no gadgetry on every third down. Give us third and shorts consistently with a mix of power run and play action quick hitters to andrews, and then open the playbook on those third and shorts, run it at times to convert, go for deep shots as well, but please ffs do not lean on read option with Lamar taking outside runs that are telegraphed from a mile away on third and shorts.

I know this team needs Lamar to be the goddamn man to win, but at some point you gotta see that the defenses we face are selling out to stop him and only him, and in this case we have ways of countering it, we just need to not get too cute and just be bigger than them which I believe were capable of.

I just don’t know that our running game is able to do that unless the defence literally gives it up to us inside (like the Vikings and chargers)

we’ve got the ability to punish defences who give us those interior runs but we don’t have the ability to establish the run and impose our running game on a disciplined and aggressive defence set up to stop it

and they brought in JOK specifically for this type of game and offence

JOK is a sideline to sideline dude who can be folded like a lawnchair by the likes of pat ricard and nick boyle, much of their defense outside of clowney and Garrett is like this, their interior is more of the penetration and disruption type. We don’t need to break off 20 yard chunks, grind em out for 4-5 yards often and they will start to fold.

I mean I’m not saying it’s gonna work, I’m saying it’s our only chance. We can’t drop Lamar back 45 times against that pass rush, I have no doubts that we will lose if we try to.

the easiest way to slow down the pass rush is to run RPOs or play-action - clowney and garrett can wreck against the run too lol

because the issue (even with an inconsistent interior) is that they only need to get 1 good play on 1st down and then it doesnt matter what the playcall is... garrett and clowney are coming

Garrett and clowney are far less likely to wreck run plays that are quick hitting and do not involve a 2 second meshpoint and lateral movement. Outbeef them, they’re light in the ass, they built their defense to chase Lamar, they forgot that when Roman feels like it he can punch you right in your shit
