Fire John Harbaugh Thread

I don't think hiring an offensive minded guy is necessarily the best move. I think Roman is a good candidate for a future OC job, and Urban needs to stay. Those two need to stay for the sake of this fact and this fact alone. I know that with Flacco I have gone on the record and have said "fuck continuity" but we didn't change the playbook drastically until 2017 where we introduced the power run scheme. Not to mention, Flacco is a veteran who has won a ring. He's proven to the world that if you put him in a position to succeed, he can do it. It's why keeping Marty for the sake of continuity was dumb. It's why I am so infuriated that we have ignored the oline, running backs, WR corps. This ON TOP of having a horrible OC for all but one year of his career. So yes, with him, fuck continuity.

With Lamar, who is still adjusting to the game, and will continue to do so for another year or two, CONTINUITY IS EVERYTHING. Roman's influence on our team since the bye has been obvious. He's the most experienced with RPOs as Kaepernick was a similar prospect. Not to mention, Orlando Brown Jr. Has looked nothing short of a future stud. Mark Andrews looks the part of a future pro bowler at the TE position, and Hurst has an even higher ceiling if you ask me based off of athleticism. Roman knows how to use TEs effectively, he did it in San Francisco. And Urban has been a massive help in reconstructing Lamar's mechanics. It'd be nice to have a great offensive mind come here, but I don't see this becoming like Goff post Sean McVay.

And, I still think that while Wink is not bad, I think he follows Harbaugh wherever he goes, this team is in desperate need of a switch to the 4-3. Sure, we'd have to acquire a couple of upgrades on the dline, but that's fine. Tim Williams and Judon would benefit heavily from having to put their hands in the dirt more often, and the one thing the defense cannot do well is cover the TEs because our LBs are slow. We have two really athletic LBs that we don't use properly for whatever reason. Hell, even peanut, who is a regular punching bag of mine is a better fit. Mosley's coverage duties are mitigated in this role. He gets to play zone far more often, and he's good there. Sure, we'd need to upgrade that front four a lot, but the next logical step after acquiring a rookie QB is to build up the trenches anyways. It's not like we don't have good, young, pieces there to start. Stanley, Brown Jr, Bozeman has flashed starter qualities, Henry, Pierce, Seiler looks like a potentially promising piece, Judon, Tim Williams. We need more, sure, but it's a really good start.

This is where you wish a Mike Zimmer was on the market. I like Teryl Austin but I doubt he gets hired at all after his stint in Cinci(though I do believe he was set up to fail there).

I think for the sake of continuity with a young QB, keeping Roman and Urban is a must. I'd strongly consider promoting Roman to OC for this reason. I'd see if there was any defensive guys out there that are worth it. 4-3 dudes preferred

I get where you are coming from with Roman as OC ans I could see where he could he a help for LJ, but in the back Of my mind I remember how bad he was was in Buffalo where he did have an athletic qb and McCoy. He is part of putting the current game plan together.

If we don’t want Wink to go we can block any lateral move, so Harbaugh can’t twke him if we want to keep him.

We haven’t totally neglected the Oline, we just didn’t get better starters than Skura and Hurst, who I agree should be backups, but we did draft OBJ and Bozeman. This year hopefully we draft more olineman and pick up some in free agency.

Has anyone looked at the possible free agent lineman for 2019

If we lost to the chargers, we have a slim chance for playoffs. So is the “fire harbs” train back on if we barely miss playoffs again? Or does this give Stevie B a reason..

That train never left the track as far as I'm concerned, no matter how the season ends.

I want Harbaugh replaced, but I have my concern and I think that has a lot to do with me being a former skins fan and knowing how hard it is to find good coaches. Just because you find a good OC or DC doesn’t mean they will be good head coaches, because a head coach is more about leadership ability then Xs and Os. The players are still responding to Harbaugh. Does he make bad decisions. No question he makes bad decisions.

If he is fired or if there is a mutual departing I’d ways, I certainly hope we can find a coach that has excellent leadership ability and believes in getting the best players on the field.

the ravens were happy interviewing and hired by all means what i think we'd all consider the right guy last time they did this and they found a candidate that no one else really even considered

i trust eric and steve and ozzie to find a guy who's right to be a head coach and leader at the very least

What if they decide to keep John? Do you trust them then?

Yes, I trust them to find the right guy, if we make a change.

Yep, it's the overblown concern. We might have a guy on staff already, who knows....
