my point is he lacks touch because he has to put his whole body into the throw and he doesnt have the power to put the right arc on the ball to throw it with touch downfield - the 2 things are related
Well to that end I agree, the guy isn't the biggest player on the field. He's measured at 6'1 and 196 LBs, that's very light. Lamar is 6'2 and 216LB since the combine but he's gotten a lot bigger since then. Lamar doesn't even have to use his lower body on a lot of his deep passes. His arm strength has always been underrated.

Greg Roman is the Buck Showalter of Football. He'll get you there but you need someone else to finish the job.

im not disagreeing that roman's been shite for some (or even a lot) of the year

but he's done nothing wrong today - you were using that 4 and out as some referendum on Roman when he literally called great plays that the players screwed up

if we're gonna analyse and get angry/frustrated about playcalling let's at least not lie about it

so what specifically today did you not like about his playcalling?

Roman was not particularly bad today, but I just can't help but feel, we could retain the majority of his rushing scheme without him, while simultaneously upgrading our passing concepts.

I can't keep watching our receivers always being in the same place or literally running int each other

Yea WR’s running into each other is unacceptable

I knew the boards would have a field day when those two ran into each other earlier

so many times this year we've had needless illegal formation penalties just because guys didnt get reset for a second before the snap

so many times

Roman has been fine today, I didn't like the play calling on the RedZone on the first drive but Huntley needs to deliver a better ball to Hollywood, he had a chance there.

This scheme is really simplified today and that's taken away big plays, on top of that atrocious OL play. Huntley has had some poor throws too. Roman has done all he could for the most part.
